I only caught the 2nd round...

Chavez has no damn defense. he's getting tagged clean. If he gets out of this Arum better not put him in with anyone who can punch.

I predict Chavez Jr.'s career will morph into Camacho Jr.'s career.

That's exactly what Johnson got upto as the fight wore on.

The guy would throw a slow, heavy right, miss or half-land, and Adam Smith would shit himself.

Froch was always coming back with stuff. It was like 3, 4, 5 shots.

Johnson was right, he was looking for the money punch off the right hand and getting too greedy with it, allowing Froch to rattle off shots and rack up rounds.

Did you not see the clip posted of Vanes Malteasers vs Chavez??

Chavez caught more leather than Jerry Rice.

Yes, add one-part Froch to two-parts Abraham, and apply liberally. Note how the bitch turns yellow and sags on the canvas.

    Pretty close.

Froch's uppercut from the outside is pretty hilarious shit. He's too tough to get stopped but he shipped far too many right hands because of his hands-down, leap-in theatrics.

Its not as bad as Messrs. Watt and Smith make it sound like it was, but Froch got hit too easily too often when he dropped his left, thus negating his jab , and poking away instead with the right.

Johnsons best rounds were the 7th, 8th and Froch only backed him up for good in the 11th.

Chavez JR has no power, no style, no explosiveness, no defense. Just a big goofy twat.

Froch won by two for me: after a slow start the fight really got going and turned into a very entertaining affair. Froch really does have a good chin but I agree on the bodyshots- that might just be the only way to stop him, as he is clearly vulnerable there.

It's now daylight here so I am off to kip...

The best thing about Chavez is his name.

Agreed about Frochs uppercut, the guy is the most unintentionally funny boxer ever. Top fighter though, great value for money.

    Good fight.

Am looking forward to Ward-Froch which is very close. Hard to predict, but I give Ward a slight edge. It'll be one helluva war.

probly wont be a war. ward will need to dictate things and i think he will. tying up this palooka and landing fast hooks and jabs from the outside. neither of these pussies could defeat that 180 lb monster who just whipped zbik

If you were watching closely, you could give Johnson seven of the first nine rounds. Just sayin

Fair play to Froch and his showy, bullshit punches.

He'll win comfortably, but Froch will have a few moments here and there

I didn't, but I think you could. Johnson was the only one actually landing real punches. Froch was shoe-shining.

Shoe-shining or not, he was doing more, and Johnson just wasn't doing enough. Johnson should have stuck to the jab, he was catching Froch repeatedly with it in the early going.

I personally thought the draw score was closest to the truth. 9-3 Froch was a joke.

He moved his hands though, and for better or worse, we all know that's how boxing is scored.

I had it to Froch by about 3 - 4 rounds. Wasn't the best performance but he won comfortably enough in the end. No way it was a draw Steve, when Johnson isn't bitching about the decision you know he's lost

Can't be more proud of a British boxer than I am with Froch. Top class fighter. I will go for him to beat Ward by split decision or late stoppage, fuck it.

114-114, WTF!! Johnson landed a good few right hands solid on Froch's chin but Froch took em very well. I enjoyed it when Froch combined him punches, but I was getting worried when he was getting pushed back and caught. The second half of the fight Froch improved greatly.
