Prospects David Price and Tom Dallas are due to meet this saturday night, in liverpool. Price was meant to be facing John McDermott, but he had to pull out due to a throat infection. Price and Dallas, both unbeaten heavyweight prospects, will meet in a British title fight final eliminator, with the winner due to meet McDermott sometime near October/November.

I don't know too much about Dallas, but have seen Price fight and he can bang abit. Should be a good scrap.

Can catch this one on sky sports.

I thought it was Prince Arron you were talking about for a minute

Price was on LFC TV the other day. He is massive. Not sure if he can fight.

Sounds like an oversized pond after a local earthquake. Stagnant and powerful.

Am looking now for the KO he scored on his pro debut.

Price looks like he walks onto shots too easily.

In round 3 of that ingleby fight (1.33 remaining), the ref shouts "stop boxing" and ingleby lands a solid shot on price's chin lol.

I liked the look of Dallas when I first saw him, looked better than Price IMO. However he was awful in his last fight and should have lost, his lack of versatility was exposed. Expect Price to win.

I'm not impressed with dallas at all after his last showing. Price should spark him out.
Dallas is too easy to hit. Price hits much harder than Dallas imo.

Will be interesting to see how either guy responds to adversity.

Danny Williams is a legend, he was in some fantastic scraps. I'd say out of our domestic fighters, him and Wayne Alexander were my favourites.

It's a shame they didn't fight each other. None of them were world class but would have made very exciting fights. Out of that list how many actually fought by the way?? I remember Farnell-Takaloo and Alexander-Takaloo, but that's it :dunno:. You could also throw Paul Samuels in there.

    Never fight in.................Spain.

I am pretty sure that Airichs gloves were loaded with something that night. The initial assault was designed to take Williams out, hence the absence of a proper referee in the first place.

Complete sham which, somehow, "Ze Germans" got blamed for.

I have a feeling price's power will get him far. Interesting to find out how he handles a big puncher. Dallas won't answer that question yet.

from wikipedia. David Price. Amateur career

The six foot eight (2,03 meters) Price (Salisbury ABC, Liverpool) beat Travis Kauffman twice by RSCO at the 2003 USA vs. England Dual. Earlier in the year he became the youngest ever A.B.A champion at his weight category (which was introduced in 1984). He was 19 years old and 272 days. In August of the year he won the Commonwealth Confederations tournament in Kuala Lumpur, defeating Muzzafar Iqbal (Pakistan) 21-9, and Justin Whitehead (Australia) 22-6.

At the Finnish Tammer Tournament 2004 he was dominated and KOd by Canadian puncher Bermane Stiverne. He then defeated Gregory Corbin on points in the England-U.S.A dual in Liverpool.
He lost to Roberto Cammarelle in the quarter-finals of the European Championships in Bulgaria in 2004, a defeat that prevented him from going to the Athens Olympics that year.

He won his second A.B.A Title in March 2005, defeating Damien Campbell of Repton in the final. He went on to win the 4 nations championships (England, Scotland, Ireland, Wales) 2 weeks later, a win which enabled him to compete in the inaugural 4 Nations v Cuba match, in which he was his side's sole victor, defeating Lisovan Hernandez.
He participated at the 2005 World Amateur Boxing Championships‎ but lost on points to Robert Helenius 25-22.

He won the 2006 Commonwealth Games at Melbourne (see link), at the Strandya Cup in Bulgaria he was outgunned by Ukrainian Vyacheslav Glazkov, though. He ended the year on a high note defeating highly touted teenage compatriot Tyson Fury 22:8. Then going on to win his 3rd A.B.A title, defeating Tom Dallas 27-4.
At the Commonwealth Championships 2007 he stopped Australian Daniel Beahan in the final.
At the 2007 World Amateur Boxing Championships‎ he defeated three opponents including Marko Tomasović (Croatia) 23:11, Frenchman Mohamed Samoudi whom he stopped, Primislav Dimovski (Skopje) 20:4 but a hand injury kept him from showing for his fight against Roberto Cammarelle.

GB head coach Terry Edwards said: "David has boxed particularly well in these World Championships and it is therefore a big disappointment that he was unable to box for automatic Olympic qualification here in Chicago, a right he had fought for."

At the first qualifier he lost controversially to David Arshba, at the second Olympic qualifier he beat Magomed Abdusalamov and Romanian World junior champion Cristian Ciocan 15:6 to make it to Beijing.
However having qualified, unluckily his preliminary match was versus Gold Medal favourite and European Champion Islam Timurziev. However, he came through to win with a knockout in round 2 after only 147 seconds at 2:2. He then beat Jaroslav Jaksto but lost his semifinal to world champion and eventual winner Roberto Cammarelle and won Bronze.
