I knew this wasnt happening. Even @160 They are afraid to put Jr in there with Cotto. Dont expect Jr to fight anyone considered a threat anytime soon.

Chavez is already a big draw. Arum will be able to milk him for at least another 2 to 3 years.

It will be almost entertaining watching them thread a path for him at 160 which will allow him to hang onto his bauble while avoiding an ounce of danger...Looking at the WBC rankings, I would suggest Domenico Spada, Koji Sato, Nobuhiro Ishida, Manfredo jr., possibly Andy Lee...Rubio could be a problem

It would be incredibly stupid of them to throw him in there with Cotto right now. He is still learning his craft and making a lot of money doing so. Why tarnish his record and possibly receive a career ending beating when all is going so well?

When you want to protect a fighter nobody better to be trained by Roach and promoted by Arum.

Rubio is a big problem IMO. I favor Rubio if they take that fight.

He is a champion now. No more learning and protecting. If he's gonna be called a champion its time to prove it.

Is anyone really calling for him to fight Cotto as this stage even if he is a belt holder? Chavez certainly isn't saying he is some P4P talent or claiming to be the man at 160.

He had no amateur career. He is still learning his craft and only has like two fights under Roach. I'd much rather see him in the ring with the likes of a Cotto when he is ready to be there. No reason to send the kid out to a premature slaughter.

What the WBO and WBC did to Martinez was criminal.

It's about time Chavez Jr. start getting mexican fans panties wet....time to fight a few puerto ricans to get things going sky high....

Cotto is too much at this moment...
    Cintron too much...
Santos fuck is he doing? Probably over 200+

Quintana is DONE so he might be a good opponent for Chavez Jr.
Collazo size advantage should be too much...

The "kid" has managed to steal a green belt, which no doubt will be cited every time his name is added to a top rank ppv. The learning his craft shit is over, he wanted his title, now he has to fight to keep it. No doubt Sulaiman will make life easy for him however. Martinez must be disgusted, hope he enjoyed the fight from ringside last week, thats about as close as he'll get to a fight with Chavez jr.

I wouldnt be surprised to see Arum make Rubio an offer to fight another of his stable i.e. get him off that mandatory spot

If Jose Suliman keeps his word than Martinez gets to fight Chavez next. Although Arum is tottally against the match up because Martinez is not a PPV draw.

I dont' think Rubio will go for it. He put send chavez jr. a public letter that is all over the internet now.

He really wants that tittle shot. The problem with the WBC is that they desperately wanted to crown both Canelo and Jr. at 154 and 160 while making the deserving fighters step aside. With the promise to all that they would imediately land the money fight.

There is no way Arum makes Jr. fight Martinez. When push come to shove he'll put him in with Rubio. Both are Mexican and Rubio is light years far from Martinez' level.

I plead with you to start looking at boxing my way. I honestly don't know what the WBC or the WBO did to Sergio. I didn't even know he held those belts no just know he's the middleweight champion.

Why do you even care what they did?

Well he's right about that. But it's no reason not to make the fight. My God. If he's going to insist on every marquee fight his fighters engage in be with another guy in his stable, at least make the damn fights !!!

It's one thing when a fighter doesn't take on top challenges because of issues with the negotiations (i.e. multiple promoters involved).

But when one promoter promotes both fighters, and it makes dollars and sense for them to fight, but the promoter is unwilling to make the fight because he's afraid the wrong guy will win? It's fucking bull-shit.

As a boxing fan, I, "can't handle the truth."
