I was thinking the same way about you actually and I DOUBT you really believe you were "winning" this case.

You are now simply running away because all of your red herrings have been dealt with very easily and you've run out of "distractions" to throw at me.

    So run along...

    sure they are.

I'm sure everyone agrees with you that Floyd should have fought Cotto when he first moved up to 147lbs, even though Cotto was still at 140...and then ran scared from Cotto when he was in negotiations to fight de la hoya even though Cotto still hadn't yet fought at the weight. Also Cotto's FEARSOME power is the reason why Floyd wouldn't fight him, because of course Floyd is terrified of punchers and that's why he fought the feathefisted De la Hoya at 154lbs!

Yup...you've certainly proved me wrong. Good job. :giggle:

    Good enough for me.

Cotto "Wasn't ready" when both he and Floyd were at 140 and both were promoted by Arum. Paul Williams was barely cracking the top 10 in 2006, he was no more worthy than Baldomir at the time.

Now, back to the real topic. Ortiz isn't a bad fight, infact I expected much worse for a "come back" fight. So I will give Floyd that, at least he is fighting a good young fighter. With that said I hope Ortiz knocks Floyd head off.

Margarito has been deemed as a fraud now anyway. Only winning fights because he probably had his gloves loaded. Any other fighter besides Floyd would not get criticism for that.

Coming off an impressive win. In fact hes the first Mayweather opponent since Judah not to come off a KO win. In Pacs last 15 fights only 8 of them were coming off of wins. That is of course if you count David Diaz's gift.

    Happy with this fight.
Ortiz is young & comes to fight.
Having said that, PBF will dismantle him & win a clear U.D.

For the sake of boxing fans, (paricularly PBF fans), I hope that the win will give PBF enough confidence to think that he has a chance against Pacman.
Otherwise historically, his fear of Manny will always be a knock against him.

This is THE fight in boxing this year. Should be a great performance.

Floyd by TKO. Hopefully he gets the Olympic drug testing because Ortiz is probably roiding. :hammert:

Why do pac fans act like it wasn't Arum who set up a ridiculous dead line for Mayweather to back up from his demands of testing Pacquiao on the last two weeks before the fight. Why are they acting like it wasn't Pacquiao and his team the ones that cancelled the fight and negotiations only to announce a fight with Clottey 3 days later? Why do pac fans totally ignore that it's only Pacquiao who has contradicted himself by rejecting a fight that was 1 stipulation away from being made, only to tell the media he would now agree with the testing when the fight wasn't there to be made anymore?

It would be as if Mayweather had rejected the fight because of Pacquiao's demand of his style of gloves, only to announce he changed his mind and was willing now to fight with those gloves (5 days before Pacquiao's election day in his country).

No, you're calling me a Joshua Clottey nut hugger. Hell the guy's only been on the scene for a good 3 or 4 year stretch and he's already done. During that time frame I was a slight fan of his but I quickly dropped him during the Cotto fight when he tried to bitch his way into a win. Now anytime I bring him up "I'm a Clottey nut hugger hunh?" Just like I'm supposed to be a Pacquiao nuthugger just because I praise him while ripping Floyd.

As for Clottey making Floyd look bad, don't bring his win loss record into this because styles make fights, and trust me Clottey's style, size and strength is something Floyd would want no part of. Do you honestly believe Floyd would have ever stepped in the ring with Clottey? Not do you think he'd beat him, but do you think he would have signed to fight him? Let me answer that for you, hell no.

Look Floyd's a great fighter, no doubt about that, but he's too busy taking the easy path to the top, and Clottey just isn't the kind of guy he ever would have faced.

It's COMICAL How U READILY Label Others as "Groupies" or Whatnot, yet RESIST Going There w/YOURSELF...You're STILL Holding On to this BOGUS Notion that Clottey was Some Sort of THREAT to Floyd; like he Posed Some Sort of DANGER for Floyd...

    Why???...Because U're a Certified Clottey NUTHUGGER..."Slight Fan" REED's Ass...

Regardless of the facts, the public's perception at this point is that PBF is scared to make the fight and that it's because of him that the fight hasn't (and probably never will) materialize.

Given this is the case, it will be interesting to see how well his PPV against Ortiz sells.

As someone's already alluded to in a thread, if his PPV against Ortiz flops, it's a good bet that PBF will suck it up and make the fight with Pacquiao.

With this in mind, boycotting the Ortiz fight, as I plan to do, probably is the right move. If enough of us can find the strength to watch something else that night, PBF will see the writing on the wall.

Unless Manny Pacquiao is in the opposite corner, I have no intention of watching Floyd Mayweather Jr fight again. Simple as that.

Nonsense. You will be down in that Spieler of yours ordering it in on your Greek DVX Box and packing the house out with people asking about when Hatton is going to fight Tyson or some shit.

I'm in for about two grand if Haye wins. If Wlad wins I get about £650 and what I staked at the bookies for one's self.

Your grassroots movement to boycott a quality matchup is admirable and all but you will feel foolish if after waiting 15 years to see mayweather jr KOd it happens and you miss it

I offered 2-1 on Haye for whoever took it. I got about £650 worth of takers, so I pay out just shy of £2k if Haye wins. If he loses, I pay out nothing and I also collect from Billy Hill on the bet I made on Wlad to win by KO ages ago at 7/4
