Will we ever again see a pivot so beautiful?

 

Good for him. His fighting style would not have been very good for his health in the long run, and I doubt he's got very many big paydays in front of him.

 

Yeah, nice little career for a guy on his talent level. Hope life after boxing works out for him.

 

I didn't like the kid as a fighter but he maximized the little ability he had. I hope 10 to 20 years from now he's successful and does something positive within the sport of boxing.

Good for him.

I wish him well and nothing but the best.

 

He should try basketball now. I have no doubts he will excel.

He did better than most people thought he would.

He won a title and made some nice money. Hopefully he stays retired, he has a lot of wear and tear on his body and at least has a degree to fall back on.

 

Considering how limited he is/was, the fact that he was once the universally accepted best in his division demonstrates real overachievement and deserves credit.

I loved that kid. Loved him. Taught him a few moves back in the day.... And what's left now? Only Chris and the titty bar....... Why, God, why??

 

I was impressed back when he beat Lavka Sim, but he never really improved beyond where he was in that fight and in general I can't stand fighters who throw 124901920 slaps per round. So I can't say I'll miss him.

 

He sucked! Just one of those tough guys who thinks people will love him because he shows heart. Didn't have anywhere near the skill to be a top fighter who could challenge the best.
I'm glad he retired right before Fraud F*ckweather could pick him as another comeback opponent.

In his speech I noticed Juan thanked damn near everybody except for good ole Karl. What a snub!

 

Always, always liked Diaz. Nothing to dislike. I wish him well.

Geez, I tell you what though, I know Diaz is retiring at a youg age, but this news sure makes me feel old. Im only a year younger than a retiring fighter!

 

I thought he had a fight scheduled.

 

Folks ragged on Diaz more than he deserved (Damn you Karl!!), but I always thought he was a pretty good fighter who gave his best in the ring. Good luck to him.

 

i thought he was mediocre early in his career fighting on espn2. you gotta respect his work ethic and dedication to drop down to 135. i thought lakva sim was gonna destroy him but he outboxed and outworked the much more experienced two time champ and also beat down freitas in what i thought was the best win of his career.

good for him if he wants to call it quits and hit the books. he took a lot of punishment from marquez.

 

he pulled out last week. decided to attend law school instead. going to umass darthmouth i think.

 

I'm upset he retired. There were talks of him eventually fighting Rios. I wanted to see Bam Bam hospitalize him.

 

I can see him picking up titles and in fact unifying many inter-state divisional titles in around 10 years. In Weight-Watchers.

Damn, the first time I really felt like I was getting older happened twice in one day!

First, a girl I swear I wasn't much older than gets carded for cigarettes while I get beer no problem. Then a guy younger than me retires. Fuck.
