ward didnt look so tough against judah. he got slapped around and did nothing when faced with a guy who had some ability. these guys you mention are tough only when fighting other palookas

You are confusing toughness and skill.

he closed up shop against Floyd too... do you count that one?

Whitaker was trying, his clavicle was broke... whitaker had proven his toughness 100 times in his career and was a far greater fighter than Mosley

Id say he proved to be a greater fighter than mosley, but not a tougher fighter.

mosley couldnt pull the trigger against mayweather jr., he was getting beaten to the punch all night. he was 38 years old having been a pro for 17 years with 400 plus amateur bouts and thousands of hard rounds in the gym. if these bouts at the end of his career tarnish what he did as a younger fighter then there are dozens of guys the same can be said for.

Yes, he did come from behind to win the rematch with De La Hoya. He was behind at the end of round 12, & still won the fight. A remarkable effort!

when whitaker was hurt, he came back harder and won... this happened numerous times... on the extremely rare occassions that Whitaker was in any way frustrated, he fought through it... the way the tough fighters do

The idea of Whitaker ever just giving up and surviving in his prime the way Mosley did against Forrest is laughable... it would never happen

Mosley was more than happy to touch gloves, grin, and throw easily-blocked combos a handful of times in fights where he was hurt or when his opponent wasn't easy to hit

Mosley made little effort to get back into the Forrest fight after he was hurt and in the rematch he never started making real effort... he fought scared and safety-first

A really tough fighter with the talent necessary to compete doesn't go out like that... Whitaker sure as hell wouldn't have

Whatever you think of Mosley, there's no denying CDogg here. For at least that one fight, minimum, Mosley did effectively quit before the fight started.

I cant remember my exact card, but it wouldnt have been far off about 9-3. Mosley set a false sense of expectation when he openf with a wild and vicious first strike, as I recall. He completely folded his cards after that. It was like Barrera against Pacquiao five years later. Quitting without quitting.

You're a moron. Prior to Tszyu, Judah's camp were quite open about whom their toughest fight was- Ward.

eeeeeaaaasy fight for judah aside from one round, all that speaks to is how unprepared the guy was for the biggest bout of his career. objectively most would say witter was a far more difficult fight, anyhow.

None of that makes Ward an "Aggressive Coward" or a "Cowardly Aggressor".

And Witter took the fight on 2 days notice which shows you how unprepared HE was. Witter also ran away for 12 rounds. Ward was a harder fight.

I'd say its more than a bit unfair to position the two words "mosley" and "coward" anywhere near each other..for more than a decade the guy has fought and re-matched any fighter, regardless of whether their styles meshed with his, and ducked no one. He doesn't belong, and has been schooled at the highest echelon (mayweather, pacquaio), but at near elite, he was always competitive.

His major flaw until recently was not heart, more that his boxing IQ was very limited, there werent enough facets to his game and when plan A or B didnt work, he would be shut down and frustrated. recently, he's just playing out the string, he knows he doesnt have it, cant knock the guy's hustle though, he made most of the fights I wanted to see, when I wanted to see them.

easy win for Forrest in the worst real welterweight championship fight in history (at least since Saxton/Gavilan) ... 8-4, 9-3... his jab was enough to win... Mosley was perfectly happy to throw one half-hearted shot and then hug Vernon's waist over and over

...and Forrest knew it. Forrest would tease him with it occasionally, pulling back his right shoulder as if he were going to throw it and whenever he did that Shane would do some kinda "scared antelope" acrobatic retreat move.
