You'll get around 13/10 for a KO/TKO win in favor of Wlad now. I might just put £50 on that

Do you think Haye will retire when he loses to Wlad?

He might as well because he becomes about as relevant as Audley Harrison.

You know, for a guy with no chin, no balls and no stamina, people surely do have a lot of cash down on Wlad

As for Haye's retirement, I wouldn't be surprised, win lose or draw, if he stays active beyond the date he has been screaming about.

One thing I would put money on, if Wlad beats him, and Haye retires, Haye will be back around 2 years after the fact thanks to his lifestyle and divorce proceedings putting a hole in his savings.

Haye should have success early. Pot shotting then stepping around Wlad...not letting Wlad set his feet to punch...countering him.

The problem for Haye comes as the rounds go on when he's winded and not moving around as much. Haye can hurt Wlad no doubt. If Wlad's chin isn't right he could take a dirt nap...though I'm not sold on it. I think Wlad faces adversity early but at the end of the day this is a version of Corrales vs Freitas.

Freitas was up in rounds but was losing the war. Corrales put so much pressure on him it made Freitas expend far more energy than he wanted. Freitas quit before he was put to sleep...I don't think Haye is smart enough to quit before taking a dirt nap.

I don't think Haye will be ahead in the fight at any point, not even early. he will get spooked by Wlad's jab and get on his bike.

I can't see Haye having much success at all in the fight really. He's going to walk into Wlad's jab on a consistent basis. If he is to have success, it will be with one punch at a time. Wlad will win the rounds due to being the aggressor.

we will see. I only see Haye potshotting then looking to stay out of the way. His awful stamina and the pressure of Wlad walking him down will be his undoing.

Wlad can't get over anxious and look to get him out early...if he does it plays into Haye's hands...or should. Wlad will be open for counters. I don't know if Wlad has any semblance of defense...he's never needed to parry shots. Most guys punch short when punching at him...he doesn't really need to get out of the way of punches seeing that most guys gave up fairly early in his last ten to twelve fights.

  9. Good analysis. I see it very similarily, but Wlad gets to Haye much sooner than Corrales got to Frietas and Haye actually drops Wlad at least once along the way.

I don't see Wlad getting knocked down at all

  11. btw...

Wlad's chin gets criticized a great deal, and understandably when you consider the Sanders and Brewster fights, but he's survived big punching Peter twice, Mercer, McCline, Brock. Wlad gets up more than he stays down and so maybe we're overrating Haye's puncher's chance.

I think Haye punches very hard, but not hard enough to send Wlad to the canvas

The way I see Wlad's chin: its not as bad has HE thinks it is.

He does, but he'll have to take risks to get in range to land that kind of punch. We'll see if Haye has the balls to try or if he'll just back track and potshot hoping Wlad makes a huge mistake.

  15. Yes. Hard enough to send Wlad to the canvas. No doubt, espcially coupled with teh handspeed. But whether he can keep him down is another issue.

If Haye decides to throw combos, I can Just sense, from the way Haye throws sometimes, his feet aren't set in place, I can see Wlad countering and sending Haye off balance.

Yep, resulting in knockdowns Haye will complain to the ref about.

Haye doesn't have any of those things, and he's way smaller.

Peter knocked him down what...4 times? Mostly clubbed him behind the head.

    Mercer was long since shot

McCline and Brock were never punchers. Especially tap dancing Brock. Btw...Brock is basically blind in one eye. He suffered a detached retina in the Chambers fight, had surgery and the surgery didn't go well.

  20. Oh shit. Never heard that before. Clinically blind?

Yeah, I read an interview he did a few years back and he said he can see light but nothing descriptive out of that eye.

giving Wlad any credit for Mercer is absurd

any heavyweight in the top 20 at that time would have beaten Mercer

  23. ok. Wlad flat out sucks. He gets knocked out by anyone that has a pulse.

Even if that is true, they wouldn't have beaten him the way Wlad did. Wlad floored Mercer with a triple left hook. Not saying that the fight meant a lot, but it confirmed my opinion that, offensively, Wlad is an ATG heavyweight. When he let's his hands go, there is no punch or sequence of shots he cannot throw.

Then why does he continue betting?

Also, can i have his phone number?

That's misleading though. Sure Wlad is a great offensive talent with a good mix of punches. However that's much easier to showcase against an old man who stands right in front of you. It would be nice to see him mount that kind of attack against better opponents and not just stick jabs.
