    Forget greatness, accomplishments etc etc.

Who's better at boxing? Muhammad Ali or Manny Pacquiao?

Not the guy who lost 2 out of three to Ken Norton, his career's biggest fight, and carried bums like Mildenberger.

You guys are demonstrating some serious subtle anti-Pac sentiments.

Me, too...I guess. Ali all the way.

Anyway Steve Dave, I know you're referring to a prime Ali in this discussion and so therefore undoubtedly Ali.

    Pacquiao, clearly.

Ali isn't really close to being one of the best all time in a P4P sense. Pacquiao is.

Floyd, Hopkins, Jones etc are also all better than Ali.

I wouldn't pay too much attention to Jaws. He doesn't think Ali would do much better against Tyson than Tyrell Biggs did. Plus he's a huge Pac fan.

These two things require taking any "insight" he has to offer with an enormous grain of salt.

So the Guy w/Not 1 but 2 KO Losses (to Non-Descript Midgets), the Guy that's Lost the VAST MAJORITY of 24 Rounds to JM Marquez, is BETTER than Muhammad Ali???...Muhammad Ali is THE GREATEST Heavyweight EVER...What Weight Class is Manny Pacquiao the "Greatest Ever" in???...

Ali is the most overrated fighter in history. Best and greatest HW ever,

    yes.

Better fighter than Leonard, Robinson, Duran, Pacquiao, etc...

    no.

We wont rehash the Marquez fights. Pacquiao got a draw on a scoring error, and won the second fight, just a bad style matchup, similar to Norton for Ali.

Anyone who thinks Norton and Marquez are on the same tier should consult a psychiatrist.

As to Manny's losses as a teenage midget, I think using that for this comparison would be like using post Manila Ali fights to judge him.

Pac is much more dominant than Ali, has just as good a resume. I dont even think its very close.

I find comparing heavyweights to other weight classes really, really difficult. Thats said, Ali.

Hit and not get hit tends to determine who's a better fighter in boxing. In that regard a prime Ali is clearly better.

U Don't Want to Rehash the Marquez Fights Because they DIMINISH Your Argument...The FACT is, in 24 Rounds, Marquez has Pocketed the VAST MAJORITY of them...Ken Norton was a Bad Matchup for the Post-Exile Ali...Marquez HASN'T Fought a Diminished Version of Manny Pac...POOR Analogy on your Part...

Like it or Not, Manny Got STRETCHED TWICE...When Assessing who the "Better Fighter" is, the TOTALITY of the Respective Careers HAS to B Taken into Consideration...U Can't just CONVENIENTLY Determine What Should or Shouldn't B Guaged...

Gonna factor Pacquiaos losses in the 90s, I hope youre ready to do the same with Jones' defeats in the 00s.

    Pointless and pointless.

    Interesting Criteria.
Maybe I should rethink my position on Ali.
Clearly he is one of the all time worst fighters.

Manny Pacquiao had ALREADY WON a World Flyweight Title PRIOR to 1 of his KO Losses...If we CAN'T Factor In his Lower Weight LOSSES, then We SHOULDN'T Factor In his Lower Weight ACCOMPLISHMENTS Either, Right???...Can't Have it BOTH Ways....

Take Away Pac's 112lb Title & What U have is a Guy that Went from 122 Upwards...That Takes Quite a Bit of Pac's "Little Man" ALLURE Away, Don't U Think???...

Pac had SHOWN Himself to B a Championship Level Fighter, PRIOR to Getting KO'ed...Whereas Roy Jones has Shown Himself to B Anything BUT a Championship Level Fighter, in the Mid 00's...
