The guy has no shame. And worst of all, it comes back on Wlad, who indulged the motherfucker in every way, and was a gent and refused to allow himself to be drawn down to HAye's level. The pre-fight nonsense was vulgarity writ-large, with the British commentary team suggesting that Haye should go back to his dressing room if Wlad delayed him.

Haye got what he wanted. A BIG paycheque!!! That was his only intention. It's the reason why he went to massive lengths in promoting this fight. All fans fell for it, hook line and sinker!!! :finger:
Boxing is a business where boxers try to make the most amount of money and by taking the least amount of risk if possible. It's not like any other sport where athletes actually have a system in place where they have to compete against the best.
It's why boxing will continue to be nothing but a blurb in the back of the sports pages. Crap sport filled with con-men like David Haye who rob the public of their money.

I don't feel bad when people pay for crap and get crap. People need to do their research before they pay for a fight.

I'm a big Wladamir fan...I want him to win...but I thought in the 12th Haye picked it up and got to Wladamir, and had he done that for the full 12, he'd have knocked Wlad out. Or he'd have gotten knocked out himself. I just think he wanted to be knocked out less than he wanted to go for the win. Plus after talking all that shit to not really go for it - I don't need to ever see a David Haye heavyweight fight again.

Haye landed 1 punch and for the next 2:30 minutes, Wlad kicked his ass.

Agreed. People are acting like Wlad chased him around the ring for 12 rounds which was clearly not the case. Both guys kept a safe distance. Wlad could throw and land more punches from that position. Haye had to lunge in and out to connect which he did okay for a couple of rounds. When his success rate fell doing that his lunges became more infrequent. His next move was to drop his hands and entice Wlad to come to him and exchange. Wlad still kept a safe distance and didn't attack. It was a shitty fight. But it wasn't one man chasing the other. A matador fighting a crippled bull with no horns is more like it.

I disagree. He THREW some bombs. In the punchstats it is going to look very low because he had to lunge in whenever he threw which he did less and less after round 5.. Landed few and when he did land. Wlad stepped back and either covered up well or got back out of range. Haye never had a chance to put a combination together. He did hurt Wlad in the 12th round but Wlad held on enough until he recovered. I don't see Haye as the con-man that some are portraying him as. I think he was confident. He came out determined to get inside and land bombs. It just didn't happen for him. And the less he landed, the less he tried.

A shit performance against Klitcho after all that talk? Definitely

    A heartless performance? No

A con-man type effort? Definitely not.

I agree with someone else on here that Arreola-Haye could be a barnburner.

Arreola would get off the canvas to stop Haye. And if Haye tries any of his stunts the Mehicanos will rip his fucking head of and run a train on that tramp of a wife of his.

Am i the only person who really enjoyed this fight? I thought it was by FFFFAAAAAARRRRRR the highest level heavyweight fight we've seen since Lewis retired.

I'd happily pay for a rematch.

Haye would knock the bejesus out of Arreola. Everyones gone fucking mad. He just went 12 rounds with the best offensive fighter in the sport and barely shipped 5 clean punches yet Chris Arreola's gonna KO him?

    Get outta here.

Incidentally it occurs - how on earth can somebody watch as much boxing as Harold Letterman, immerse himself in the sport as much as Harold Letterman and be so fucking clueless to the intricacies and dynamics of the sport? His scoring's bad enough but the idiotic analysis he throws in on the side, criticising world champions for not knowing that they're supposed to keep their hands up & lead with the jab for example (while sitting right next to Roy fucking Jones) which he does all the time (though that's far from the silliest attempt at analysis I've heard from him).....awful.

Really? It went exactly as I thought it would, except Wlad didn't stop him. That was the only surprise to me. Again, as I said before, Haye has no jab. You NEED a jab to offset Wlad's rhythm and provide a platform to set up your own attacks. The sloppiness of Hayes work was embarrassing, frankly.

I have to tell you...I saw very different things to the majority of posters here. I think only Hut saw what I saw.

Both men came to fight. Both men came to win. Both men were confident of winning all the way to the final bell. No one bitched out. Both men simply had serious difficulty in landing on the other and therefore it turned into a chess match. Wlad fought VERY TALL and Haye just couldn't find him chin without lunging in which cause Wlad to lean on him. Wlad just couldn't find Haye's chin, because Haye moves his head so well and moves so well and changes direction so quickly for a Heavyweight.

Exactly. Haye proved to me last night no no heavyweight in 2011, outside of the brothers Klit, beats Haye.

He knew these would be the difficulties coming in. I've said time and time again, Haye would never win this fight because he has no idea how to set up his own attacks. He's reliant on mistakes from the opponent, Wlad is not going to step out of his comfort zone unless you take the initiative and ruffle his feathers. That's always been his way, if he can win boring and easily, he will.

yup. When Wlad elects to fight tall, like Lennox Lewis before him, there's NOTHING the opponent can do. It's just a boring fight with only one winner.

It's very difficult for sure, especially for a small guy like Haye, but he had tools he could have used. Jabbing to the body for example to work his way in. I just feel he's going to look back on this in later years and he'll know deep down he didn't leave it all on the line on the biggest night of his life.

If. Eddie Chambers gave him a busted eye before Alexanders fat arse got the job done. Bottom line is Povetkin is now WAY down the pecking order. His career choices of late have, quite frankly, been poo.

Kevin Johnson would have a great shot. Haye wouldn't land a single right hand, and Johnson was reaching Vitali with the left. Tony Thompson would also have a great shot, being his ex-Sparrng partner, Wlad had as many problems with Thompson as he did with Haye.
