I'm more curious about what southpaws Ali failed to face

Id love to have a hit of the crack that people must take to envisage Ali as a better fighter than Pacquiao. I get it, people stick up for him for a myriad of reasons, boyhood hero, political icon, etc.

He's far and away the most important fighter ever and always will be.

That isn't the question. There is video which apparently I'm the only one who taped it off espn classic that shows otherwise. Joe Louis' bum of the month club, isn't far from Ali's competition pre-exile, especially considering the only good fighter he ever fought before it was a paranoid mafia puppet who clearly threw the 2nd fight. I honestly would love to hear which Ali fight I'm supposed to watch that convinces me he's the BEST fighter of the two.

For what its worth, I think Roy is probably the best fighter ever, but he and pacquiao are a step above Ali in terms of quality in the ring.
