I believe Ali takes Lennox. Lennox didn't like fighting guys that good move well. That is the reason he avoided fighting Chris Byrd. Ali makes Lewis look silly for the entire fight. I see Ali taking this by decision or late KO.
Chris Turd got exposed by most every heavyweight he fought after he won the title. Dude looked like sh*t against Oquendo, Golota, McCline and got knocked senseless by Wlad. Lewis would feast on the Turd and bury him in about 2 rounds max if he's in the mood.
An in-shape Lewis gives the Ali of 64 fits. Ali's movement makes Lewis miss a lot and he lands sharp flurries but does not hurt Lewis. Lennox is not only bigger, his skill and jab surprise Ali who is especially wary after absorbing a right hand early on. A difficult fight to score, Lewis on a split decision. I think the Ali of 74 stands more chance of beating Lewis that the Ali of 64. In 74 Ali was bigger, hit harder, yet was still a fast, vastly experienced heavy. That Ali beats Lewis on pts in a competitive fight. I could be wrong! Gibola
Toughest fight, stylewise, for a prime Ali. I've often pondered this one. I believe Ali would take the decision as both men will decide to engage in "boxingology". Ali would be busier and more elusive..but make no mistake, Lennox's height and reach and "tall boxing" would give him fits in spots.
interesting stastical note I dont place a lot of value on Compubox but it is interesting to note: EVERY SINGLE FIGHT where Lennox Lewis averaged 30 jabs per round he won clearly the fights where he lost (Rahman, McCall) and where he struggled (Mercer, Holyfield II, Vitali) he threw significantly less than that number Lennox's jab was undeniably effective when he used it... it wasn't pretty, but it worked exceptionally well (think Mike Spinks, who had a strange pecking sort of jab that also was ugly but worked everytime he committed to it) It may not have had the effortless sting of Holmes, the lightning speed of Ali, or the punishing heaviness of Louis or Liston, but it was arguably every bit as effective
Ali would have a lot of problems here due to LL's superior height & reach. Ali would win by superior footwork. Turning LL, not letting him set, & out-landing him. If Ali did get caught, It's unlikely he would get caught with more than one shot at a time & Ali also had the chin/ recouparative powers/ cageyness to recover if he did.
