prime Ruiz would have beaten Haye imo. The division just keeps getting worse and worse and the fight more and more boring. Yet we are told that we should enjoy two big punchers playing it safe. For all the shit Haye has taken about Wlad being boring ( and he is right, Wlad is one boring mother fucker ), he's not much better at hw.

:crafty: ,.. black and white pictures are the key to Moor-making,.. remember the Cleverly pic?... the only Moorish one out there is indeed Malignaggi, he may not quite have the tone of a northern african, but he does have the face of one. I remember in the last world cup I think?.. there was a player for Morroco, with the exception of slightly darker skin, it was the splitting image of Malignaggi...

Southern Portugal, the Andulese, Sicily, Albania and Cypress are the Arabs of Europe though, no doubt about that son.

Only if you were born after 1999.

All this shit you've spouted about Haye and this matchup is laughable. There's no way in hell to compare Holyfield -Lewis to this crap. Holyfield was a hall of famer going into the bout and Lemmon appeared to be one or on the cusp of earning his stripes going into that matchup.

Haye isn't, wasn't and will never be half the fighter Holyfield was.

The only thing Haye proved is if you run your mouth long enough, duck guys long enough you can fall ass backwards into a huge payday.

I can't believe you fell for his crap. Haye turned out to be Allan Green's big brother. Talk shit then fight like a coward. Hell, I give a guy like Mayorga or Edison Miranda more credit. They talk shit but took their ass kickings like men.

By round five I fully exected Haye's corner to unbraid his hair, blowdry it then apply lipstick instead of vaseline to his face. He'd been bitch made into Wlad's that early in the fight.

    Sorry let me clarify...

The Lewis -Holyfield MATCHUP was FAR MORE INTRIGUING. Not even close. I absolutely couldn't wait for that fight.

But the Lewis-Holyfield FIGHT was FAR MORE BORING than Haye-Klit.

I was talking about the fight itself.

    I still disagree.

Lemmon-Holyfield I spent the night WAITING for something to happen.

Wlad vs Haye I spent the night KNOWING nothing would happen.

    Huge difference.

    Disagree.

I expected a KO in the Haye-Klit fight, as did everyone else (except perhaps you). As such I was waiting for that KO every round including the last round.

It was clear to me in Lewis-Holy 1, after the 3rd round (which Evander predicted he'd win by) that nothing was going to happen except Lewis fighting his typical (at the time) boring fight and Evander having no plan B.

I thought if Haye came out "boxing" Wlad would knock him out. By round four or five I knew neither guy would win by KO.

Haye because he was afraid to mix it up...Wlad because Haye spent all his energy staying away from him.

It was a forgone conclusion fairly early.

For me...seeing that each man was obviously waiting for the other to make a mistake and then sucker them into a huge punch, and given each man's chin, I was always expecting it to happen eventually...and there were a couple of moments for both men mid way through which siggested this possibility. Alas it never materialized.

With Lennox-Holyfield...it was clear from round 4 onwards that neither man intended on stopping the other and that it was going to be a boring distance fight.

The way haye constantly dove to the canvas there was a better chance he'd pull wlad's pants down than knock him out.

Lewis/Holyfield 2 perhaps. I think you've forgotten how BORING and uneventful the first one was. There was some action at the end of the 3rd round (Holyfield trying to fulfill his prediction) and Lewis put Holyfield under pressure against the ropes in the 5th...and after that there was precious NOTHING! A complete and utter bore.

    The rematch was better.

Haye is a fucking bitch, he talked his way to a shot, and didn't deliver a fraction of what he promised. To me, he showed that he was only there to collect a check, and had no intention of actually trying to win the fight. How you can find ANYTHING to praise Haye for is beyond me. Haye beat a giant oaf in Valuev by about the same margin and ancient Holyfield should have won by had he not been robbed. If you ask me, Haye is still very unproven at HW. Give him Arreola or Peter and see what happens. He probably bitches up again.

David Haye confirmed today that as soon as his foot is better he will be taking up top level cycling, aiming to win next year's Toe de France.

Nah. They were about even. There were huge flaws with their first fight, Lewis wouldn't, Holy couldn't, and Manny Steward has the same issues with Lewis that night that he did with Wlad 13 years later. Lewis basically took large parts of the fight off, had a snooze, allowed Holyfield back into it. 3rd round, 5th round were decent stuff.

Apart from Manny Steward and Lennox Lewis himself, there was one other character who was central to both fights. Can you remember who it was???

Hint: Lampley accused him, erroneously, of an "inexorable" act during the immediate post-fight commentary.

    Breaking News:

Haye announces he's entering rehab for his alcohol addiction. Promises when he's done with treatment he will fight a rematch with Wlad. Claims this camp was marred by drinking binges. Promises during next camp he will be a tea toetaler.

BTW, pretty laughable comparing this to Lewis/Holyfield I

Just because Wlad has become a very poor man's version of Lewis since Steward took him over, doesn't mean their fights have any correlation with each other.

Lewis often got criticized for fighting cautious or using his height too well, but he was 100 times more aggressive then Wlad............and actually threw power shots when they opened up for him. Not just once or twice a round, or only when he was protecting himself after getting tagged like Wlad.

Also, putting Holyfield in the same boat as Haye.............I weep for you.

Wlad/Haye was not a high level fight, by any stretch of the imagination.

It was of course Eugenia Williams who got it all wrong, with Christoudoulu scoring it for Lewis and Englishman Larry O'Connell scoring it a draw.

Oh- and Holy vs Lewis DAMAGED boxing. At least that didn't happen with Wlad vs Haye, where the judges got the decision CORRECT.

Haye, for what it is worth, is a totally different fighter to Holy anyways, in terms of style and physical traits.

    From whom??? :dunno:

Vitali fights nothing like either man.

The best that can be said of the Solis fight is that Vitali has a chin and can fight, and is a sly dog with plenty of tricks.

Haye isn't shit....he's just too small and his energy goes in all the wrong places. Haye could have beaten certain versions of Holyfield and could have beaten some of the guys that Evander lost to.

Haye simply isn't cut out for guys like Wlad or Vitali.

Solis was doing OK , at least he got a real injury.
