Was reading this article today: http://www.guardian.co.uk/sport/blo...le-mitchell?commentpage=all#start-of-comments Interested in finding the featherweight (maybe?) fight he mentions in the article which was at the Royal Albert Hall about 20 years ago between two welsh feathweights, one was unbeaten and broke the other fighters ribs in first round, his corner says they are going to pull him to which he replied "Do that and I'll sort you out," who carried on fighting using his right arm to guard his ribs and proceeded to fight one handed and batter the hot prospect into submission. Sounds incredible seen as breaking your ribs is one of most painful things you can do. Any help appreciated
Probably not the guy but i did a bit of googling. Perhaps this can lead to what you're looking for? http://www.johnnyowen.com/Recs/Fl/kelvin_smart.html
Cheers for that, maybe able to find it will spend some time looking over the site as looks dedicated to Welsh boxers. It is weird I'd have imagined it would be quite well know considering the level of bravery shown, no reason to doubt the author Kevin Mitchell as he is very good boxing journalist but if it was a little known undercard it might have just been the people who were actually at the fight who witnessed it.
Jesus where the hell have you been? You have been missed old friend. Its Godfather. Hope you stick around.
There is only one thing more painful than breaking your ribs and that is somebody else breaking your ribs. Kevin Mitchell :: He ran and hid with beauty after his boy Haye was beaten. Attacked Dan Rafael instead of writing about the fight.
Neither was Hitler. I didn't expect articles about Hitler after Haye lost. I expected articles about Haye losing, considering how much effort Mitchell had put into bashing Klitschko. Mentioning ESPN was fucking lame.
Wait...is this the guy who used to have pictures of Ruiz and Jirov working in a burger joint???
Maybe Haye could have a job at LOKAZ burger, will need to be sit down position what with his bad toe and all that
