If Ortiz knocks mayweather out, it will simply mean that by definition that PBF is past-prime & would have destroyed Ortiz in his prime (which is obviously past. -If you need evidence that it's past, look no further than the fact that he just got knocked out by Ortiz).

Hence any fight between PBF-Pac could only mean one of 2 things:
If Pac wins-more evidence of how past-prime PBF is.
If PBF wins-Imagine how much a PRIME PBF would have dominated Pac...

    word. :partie:

But this is all moot. Mayweather will stop Ortiz. I'm more worried about Pac vs Marquez to be honest. People seem to think it's a gimme for Pac...I'm not so sure.

He will be. Everyone knows that this fight will sell well. Mayweather is a huge draw and Ortiz is a very exciting fighter, good looking and with a brash personality.

Btw..Ortiz-Pacquiao would be one hell of a fight before Pac finishes him off in around the 7th.

Exactly. What's this dude talking about?

Mayweather in his first comeback fight + Ortiz with all of this Mexican and Mexican American support = Dollars!

It would outdraw any MMA fight that could be made. Significantly so.

    Agreed on both points.
However I always seem to think that Manny will do worse than he actually does.

Not that it's relevant but in responding to your point, didn't UFC 100 do 1.6 million?

    :scratcher:

Oh wait, this post was from RJJ, so it wasn't meant to be fact-based.

If Mayweather beating Ortiz means that we FINALLY get to see Pac-Mayweather, then it's good thing if Mayweather wins. He's far too much of a douche for me to actually cheer for him, but i might actually find myself not hoping he gets decapitated.

If Mayweather beating Ortiz means just more of the same shit-talking and cherry picking from Floyd, then I hope Ortiz destroys him in Hearns-Duran style.

And I also wonder...if Ortiz beats Mayweather convincingly...will Pac make the fight with him? I'm sure all the Pac fans will get all bent out of shape...but I wonder if Manny will be a little hesitant to take on the fighter who whacked the fighter perceived as his biggest rival and decide it's time to retire and return home and run for President.

Mayweather. Is. A. Douchebag. That's all there is to it. We can pretend he's a really nice person, but that would be bullshit.

I used to hear this crap about Tyson when he was raping people and punching parking lot attendants. More bullshit.

i never heard mayweather jr. claim he planned to "whup the piss outta" an opponent, only to get thoroughly embarrassed. that sounds to me like a higher standard of douchebaggery.

Yeah, ok...you've TOTALLY convinced me now. Oh, wait...maybe not.

And really...this is so boring. And at the end of the day..and after all your endless and pointless Mayweather nuthugger posts here...Mayweather is a still a gigantic douchebag. But look on the bright side...he does appear to a little less of one than his Dad or uncle.

And seriously...how long do you plan to continue this. 'cause if it's gonna be one of those "discussions" that goes on forever because you think the last word is the right word (it really isn't...it's just the last word), then let me know and I will stop now because that doesn't even interest me a little bit.

If calling Paz names makes you feel better about Mayweather being a douche, then good for you. Whatever helps you get through the day. But since you don't seem to have anything of value to say to me, then I am done with this. So, knock yourself out, get the last word and show how much you love Mayweather. But not too much...because you may make Sly jealous.

    "Douchebag" is a self-identifying term.

I've scarely heard a more juvenile and pathetic term used....

Your talking about Mayweather-Pacquiao if Mayweather loses. That fight does 2 million buys minimum. I said Mayweather-Ortiz does at least 1.2.

Also UFC 100 never did 1.6. It did less than 1 million. Dana White went quiet when TR and GBP called him out over the numbers.

Schaefer questioned the legitimacy of UFC pay-per-view results that were leaked. He said HBO is a publicly traded company that would face serious repercussions for releasing false numbers. The UFC, he noted, is a private company with no such concerns.

“I think the UFC and boxing should be able to co-exist and work together in this thing that we call (combat) sports,” Schaefer said.

“I don’t want to talk (expletive) about the UFC. But Dana White can’t do an interview without knocking boxing. If he thinks we’re idiots and don’t know anything about the pay-per-view business, I’ll make him a challenge.

“I am willing to hire one of the top three accounting firms, at my expense, and do an audit of his pay-per-view results. They are nowhere near what is put into the public. There is talk that UFC 100 did 1.6 million, but it barely broke a million. I am willing to pay to have the audits done to prove this.”

White said he would not allow anyone other than fighters with a contractual right to do so to audit his numbers.

“Do you think I’m (expletive) crazy?” he said

LOL.... Like I said, if you want to have a conversation that is fact based, don't talk to RJJ.

Who cares what Golden Boy says about UFC buy rates?

I, nor Dick Schaefer, have any idea how many buys any UFC event has done. But I would think the truth about UFC 100 is south of Dana White's number and north of Schaefer's. Quoting either as fact is funny and typical RJJ.

Keep going back on your point that Mayweather-Pac doesn't outdraw any UFC card even if Floyd loses to Ortiz. No UFC fight does 2 million buys. May-Pac do 2 million minimum.

I never said a single word about a UFC event out selling Mayweather-Manny.

You're the dolt that brought the UFC into a boxing discussion. And failed miserably in doing so.

    Typically back-and-forth with RJJ. Unreal.

A while back....I would have picked Lesnar vs. Fedor might have done close to 2 million..for the UFC...

Best thing MMA might have now that can come close to Pacquiao vs. Mayweather....would be Silva vs. St. Pierre...

I think Silva-GSP would do more buys than a once-beaten Mayweather against Manny. And by a decent margin if Mayweather loses badly to Ortiz.

Obviously it doesn't sniff an unbeaten Mayweather versus Pac Man.
