  1. Cooper was a tough little punk! And again...I'm not basing his entire career on Cooper alone. Have you been reading my posts?

Many people think that the 2nd Holyfield Lewis fight was either a draw or a close win for Holy. So even if you wanna say the first fight wasn't close (and I agree with you)..it all evens out.

Hurting a guy is a big deal and should be treated as such... isn't that the point of punching someone?

    Barrera won that round
    Trinidad won his round

Many people are wrong about that fight, but that fight is at leats debateable

There is NO debate about the first one, again you are trying to compare a mildly controversial decision with an outright highway robbery

YOU keep throwing Cooper's name in there, not me

That win counts for next to nothing

Cooper sucked... he had a hard punch and a weak chin... he was a clubfighter

  4. Coopers name isn't in isolation. FUCK talking about Cooper! I also mentioned Mercer, Stewart, Douglas, Moorer. My point is..Bowe and Tyson were great achievements and Evander fought a few other tough/powerful fighters to prove his point.

great fighter..stop fucking focussing on Bert Cooper!!!!!!

  5. That's cool. I disagree on those rounds, but I know you're consistent with this point in many other discussions that we've had so I respectfully disagree.

I think this is a good point. IMO you have to rate Marciano ahead of Lennox. You can question both of the era's in which they competed, but Marciano never lost to anyone. If Lennox had never lost to McCall or Rahman, you could say the competition was mediocre all you wanted.... but he still would have never lost and then you can talk about rating Lennox ahead of Rocky.

I think Foreman and Jack Johnson are the only other guys that are in the same realm as Lennox below the top 3, and where do the rank vs. each other? That's the fun part.

Definitely top ten, probably top five (which is where I would place him)

Your record against Steve Dave would be undefeated. There's little doubt he'd turn blue LONG before you.

    :cheer:

  9. True. I may turn Purple though..and that should count to be fair.

who do you rate ahead of him? Louis, Ali, Holmes and Marciano?

Not sure TBH, it's such a subjective thing and I've never come up with a top ten in order that I'm entirely satisifed. Ali and Louis are top two for sure and then after that an argument can be made for Holmes, Lewis, Foreman, Johnson or Rocky. Any order would be fine for me and mine changes pretty much daily.

I remember when nobody gave Lennox any credit on these boards. Now he's an all time great. I have a feeling the same will happen when Wlad retires, he will get the respect he deserves. When Wlad retires and the title is splintered and changing hands every fight, we will appreciate his dominance.

I was gonna say - I can't believe the name Bert Cooper would ever be used to try defend a resume.

    PLEASE stop saying "Cooper"

The next thing you know, you will be mentioning Ray Mercer as significant when discussing Wlad's career. Oh, wait...

Neither did Lewis, apparently. He went down, the ref counted to ten, and then, perplexingly, stopped the fight :scratcher:

Too bad Lennox didn't have a bigger, tougher older brother to take care of that for him.

You ever seen Violet Lewis? A man could only fuck that thing once. It was either twins, or solitude.
