Do you have the specifics? Maidana was heavy in his last two fights as well. He's also taller and has a longer reach than Rios.

 

Tall Paul looks crap tonight. Looks like he's just going through the motions.

 

I wouldn't call it debatable. Khan had clearly banked up enough rounds to win. Also, Maidana is a hard hitter so that's not exactly shocking, but he obviously didn't get bombed out so his defense is getting better.

 

Maidana is like an inch taller, but overall there's not much in it. Rios is a big lightweight.

I wouldnt count Maidana out, but I'd make Bam Bam the favorite.

He looks like crap but as I alluded to before the fight I think Lara is the better technical boxer anyway.

Xplosive - In regards to Rios Vs Maidana I agree, I would make Rios the favourite for sure, but wouldn't be shocked at a Maidana win. He's a fierce, determined fighter. I would be surprised though I have to admit. Rios is just a much better fighter. I'm tentatively picking Guerrero over Maidana too. Guerrero has been somewhat underrated for years.

 

Maidana is also largely terrible and skilless, problems a skilled defensive fighter would have exploited mercilessly

There was nothing particularly clear about that fight, other than that Khan is not that good

Maidana is not a good fighter and that fight was very close

To be honest TLC that's pretty obvious ::

Paul has never been a technical boxer, he's always been about sheer workrate and toughness.

So Lara being the technical boxer doesn't have much bearing anyway. I think a prime Tall Paul just overwhelms Lara.

Paul looks properly shot tonight, that Martinez KO capped off all the punishment he generally takes in fights.

Yep, this is one of those occurances where a fighter just becomes shot overnight.

 

Roy sounds so idiotic suggesting another fighter should retire, and even dumber suggesting a fight should be stopped before he gets knocked out.

Victor Ortiz isn't a particularly special fighter either, so I don't see how that makes Maidana suddenly terrific... If Ortiz had even a little bit of heart to go with some smarts, he knocks Maidana out in that fight... he fought stupid and quit when he found out the guy wasn't going to lay down for him

Here's what Maidana is: a crude, unskilled guy with some pop and some courage... a real top level fighter should easily outbox him

Con didn't do that by a long shot... there was nothing clear or concise about who the better man was

 

HBO are generally full of shit but Roy is usually better than that.
