The Brown that iced Trice and knocked down the immortal Terry Norris with a jab faces the Williams that beat Margarito and just fought Lara

Brown would have iced Tall Paul late. Williams is too easy to hit, Brown was too heavy handed, and Williams lacks the firepower to do real damage to Simon.

at 147 it's a happy day for Simon as he ;ands a boatload of those looping, heavy-handed shots and stops Tall Paul

at 154, it's more of a wild card because Brown wasn't too good a junior middleweight... still he could at least land punches on a guy who was there to be hit... but he was not particularly durable, and his power, which was overrated to begin with, was noticeably less potent

I'll take Brown by KO at 147 and Williams by decision at 154. L

mythical matchup is bullshit anyhow. but if brown went life and death w/ mo blocker and t. trice, i can't see how one would say brown KOs him w/o any hesistation.

Blocker was a classic boxer, really a beautiful boxer, great technique and jab... he lacked Durability, and Simon was too strong for him, but he was a classic boxer, nothing liek WIlliams

Trice was immensely talented, quick and very powerful, well-schooled but totally undisciplined... but again he wasn't anything like Williams

I don't see the relevance of either comparison

Williams gets hit flush a lot and he looks to engage, throw punches... Brown was successful when guys traded with him because he could crank up those big, arching shots... he always did exceptionally well when the guy was right there

Brown could be made to look ordinary when he was in there with guys who kept moving, kept giving him angles, countered him, jabbed him... guys like McGirt, Starling, Trice (at first anyway, until he got too bloodthirsty and started brawling after hurting Brown)

Williams never fought that way in his life... he'd stand and trade with Brown, like he always does and that's not the right strategy if you are a guy who lacks serious power and gets drilled with flush punches a lot

if M/matchups are such bullshit, when what are you doing here anyway?

why even expand beyond that first remark?

Brown was on the decline by time he fought McGirt, and Buddy was a MUCH better technical boxer than retarded ass Williams.

Williams would go to war with Brown, and would lose. Simon had the much bigger firepower, better technique, and even though Brown was hardly a defensive genius.... he had a better D than Williams as well.
