Its a skewed argument, Wlad vs Lewis, because both men at their best have become reliant on a common factor, namely Steward. Wlad under Steward is not Wlad under Sdunek. Hell, Wlad under Steward today is not WLad under Steward in 2004.

  2. Wlad's offense with Vitali's chin and size is an unbeatable fighter.

Wlad with some counterpunching and a more composed style is probably an unbeaten fighter.

I dont buy that crap... he's learned to cheat and there's nobody out there good enough or hungry enough to force a fight on him, except his brother of course

I'd love to see him try that "oh wait, you aren't allowed to throw punches at me, let me hold you in my arms" crap with his brother... might work for a round

I still think a hungry, aggressive puncher with nothing to lose like Sanders was gets him out of there and his brother takes his heart

Exactly. I feel the same way about Calzaghe.

Sure it can look ugly/sloppy but by god it gets the job done, and makes him very hard to beat.

I used to underrate Slappy Joe and Vitali like crazy, based partly on technique, then I realised that's just ignorant. If it works it works, and their styles do. Both fighters are very hard to defeat.

Nah. Vitali's chin is fine, but his skin is not. Guy tears up easier than paper. Wlad's offense is also highly overrated it seems. That sh*t he did for 12 rounds against Ibragimov and Haye was not impressive by any means. Not sure what offensive brilliance you're referring to.

Wlad is a thousand times better offensively than Vitali. Punches harder, faster, and with better technique. He's just hesitant to throw anything but a jab nowadays. Even then, he has a pretty damn good jab.

Indeed, on all counts. I still vividly remember the days when there was essentially no public argument Wlad was the better brother. Only thing to change has been Vit proving himself tougher (by a lot) but in no other capacity is he actually superior, nor was he ever.

I know thats what I always think watching Wlad.

"Give this guy a chin & another inch of height, & he is Sugar Ray Robinson"

Gun to my head, I'd probably take Vitali's mediocre technique and better chin/will/stamina over Wlad's superior technique and chinniness/mental weaknesses.

Dont forget Wlad has a Heavy-duty punch in his arsenal (much as he has come to neglect it). Vit does not.

Don't forget that Vitali has beaten all of Wladimirs common opponents in better fashion, with the exception of Byrd.

Or that Wlad has consistently beaten better competition.

    sonofabitch!

You know what I mean. Vitali's chin and stamina (forget 1 extra inch in height) on Wlad's everything else...which Heavyweight beats this guy. A prime Muhammad Ali may outpoint him but that's it.
