REED Would Pick Floyd to Beat Pacquiao by a Rather Clearcut Decision...8 to 4 Type of Win...The Problem is, Floyd Apparently DOESN'T Think as Highly of his Chances of Beating Manny Pac, as REED Does... Floyd Fights Sooooo INFREQUENTLY, it's Next to IMPOSSIBLE to Rate him...How Do U Rank a Cat that Shows NOfuckingINCLINATION Whatsoever to KEEP Himself Ranked???.... As we Type, Pacquiao Is & SHOULD B Ranked Higher than Floyd, on ANY Welterweight/Lb for Lb Lists... REED:Lok:
These are novel and insightful objections that have never been discussed or addressed before. Thanks for your contribution, this sheds new light on everything.
Truth is..Floyd could be shot right now, we just don't know. The Ortiz fight will tell us a great deal, because although Ortiz can be hurt and made to quit...he's young, fast, powerful, aggressive and dangerous.
Based on what? His only relevant win in 5 years leading up to the Mayweather fight was against that inactive blowhard, Mayorga.
Why because a year earlier he beat Mayorga and two years earlier he got knocked out by Hopkins? And before hopkins he got his as handed to him by Sturm and before that he lost to mosley?
Yeah, he lost to Mosley.. just like he beat Sturm. Can't have it both ways. Either way, 160 was too high of a weight for him and Hops is an ATG at MW anyway. Getting knocked out by Bernard Hopkins at middleweight is certainly not a good indicator that a 154 lb champ is going to do poorly against a tiny welterweight in a fight at 154 lbs.
Lb for Lb is & ALWAYS WILL B Based on RECENCY, Brother Sly....Lb for Lb is ALL about 'What have U Done for Me LATELY????'...Back when Roy Jones was Faaaaaaaaaar & Away THE BEST Fighter on the Planet, Guys like Tito & Sugar Shane had BRIEF Spells where they were Facing BETTER Guys... Roy was "Losing" the Battle of RECENCY...Ditto for Floyd...Sure, Floyd has a VERY Strong CLAIM to Being THE BEST Fighter in the World, but there's this Little Asian Motherfucker that's Been SHITTING on Floyd in Terms of Common Opponents AND Facing the Absolute BEST Guys within the Same Division...Back to Back to Back to Back.... Floyd Fucks HIMSELF Over w/the Lame Ass "Retirements", Dog...Sorry, but the Sport of Boxing is BIGGER than Floyd Mayweather...He DISagrees, but it's the Truth...As Such, a Guy CAN'T Decide to Fight 2-3 Times in a 3-4 Year Span & Expect to MAINTAIN his Status, When there's a Contemporary of his Beating BIGGER Names Every 6 Months... The Bottom Line is This; Floyd Mayweather is THE ONLY Reason this Fight hasn't ALREADY Happened...But Despite This, U're Gonna ALLOW him to Maintain the Spot that he WILLINGLY Squandered???... REED:hammert:
He won the title beating mayorga. Big fucking deal. How is beating DLH better than beating Cotto, Williams and Margarito? Its not. It's a stupid argument.
I don't disagree Pac has the status right now and rightly so. But I believe that Floyd is the better fighter, as do you...and as do many. All i said was "Floyd is the best". Of course that's my opinion. Anthony and a few haters took exception to this and started talking he usual margarito cotto williams shit.
The problem is that you think he is the best just because you think it. He has never proven this to you. You see his style and you see his fights against people not on his level and think to youself " man this guy is unbeatable" However, he hasnt beaten the best fighters in his division. And the case can be made in every division he held a title in.
But the Question Is, How Much does Pac's Dela Win Do for HIS OWN Welterweight Legacy or Standing???...Pac Fought a Slightly OLDER, Even MORE Diminished Version, @ a Weight Dela HADN'T Made in a Decade... If Pac Gets Little Man Points for Moving Up to Beat Dela, Floyd Should Get SOME Too, for Fighting him @ a More Comfortable Weight (For Dela)... REED:dancingBaby:
yes he has. You really think Cotto, Margarito and Williams have proven themselves better fighters than Floyd? :: Mosley? Pac's good, but Marquez and Morales gave the man too much hell for me to consider him being better than Mayweather...a man that's given us virtuoso performance after virtuoso performance.
I didnt say that. You see you are having trouble comprehending anything on this subject. Just because you think he can beat them doesnt mean he shouldnt have fought them. Your thought process is flawed. And its a shame that you are blind, you are unable to see how ridiculous you sound.
you are one deluded cretinoid. i must have missed pacquiao's virtuoso performance against marquez. and morales most certainly wasnt in his prime anymore by the time he faced pacquiao, best weight or not.
That wasnt my point midget. My point is that it's easy to look virtuoso against sub par competition. Try to get in your high heels if you cant read the screen properly.
Do you think he really was REED? Or do you think the years and years of carefully handpicked opposition had a lot to do with Roy Jones' supremacy and possible illusion that he was better than he really was? I personally thought Tyson was the most incredible specimen even in his post-prison comeback...until he met Holyfield. I think class of comp tells us a lot. You have to fight the best to be regarded as the best and I'm not seeing that with Floyd. He hasn't really fought anybody who can be regarded as a great fighter. Not even the versions of DLH and Mosley were anywhere close to their primes when Floyd fought them. They were at the end of their careers and only in the game for the money.
No more then Mayweather, maybe even less at that point. I've become a critic of both guys, but least Pac has been active and has fought some of the guys Mayweather has not. I don't really care anymore whether they fight...........I've gotten way more joy from watching all the Super Middleweights knocking each other off then I ever would from a Pac/Floyd fight at this point. When Ali and Frazier had their manufactured fued, what did they do.............they fuckin' fought............three times. Floyd and Manny have been circle jerking each other too long for me to care anymore.
Cotto, Margarito, and Williams could all have been Nadal, Djokovic and Murray to Floyd's Federer.:kidcool: But of course, in Boxing, you're not forced to compete against the best and most deserving. You can just handpick whoever the f*ck you want.
Yup. It's one fight which Floyd fans have never wanted to discuss in real detail. They tend to skip over any discussions about that fight because Floyd looked like absolute sh*t against a guy long past his best, inactive, no real stamina left and only in it for the paydays.
Oh c'mon Anthony, don't go overboard. Only people who were at Petre's house, think De La Hoya won that fight. ::
what is there to really discuss about that particular fight. it was a shitty fight and a shitty performance by mayweather jr, but a clear victory nonetheless. not one of the ten best opponents or victories in his career.
I personally thought Floyd did nothing to win that fight. Basically if DLH didn't come forward, there would've been no fight. Just a lot of shoulder rolling BS. Should've just made it a draw for sh*ts and giggles cause the fight sucked ass.
Yup, Floyd got the decision by being just a little bit less sh*t than old man inactive Oscar. Prime Oscar obviously would eat the motherf*cker alive as everybody knows but that shot Oscar came for a payday.
