@Manny87p tito isn't in the same UNIVERSE as anderson when it comes to pay. This shows you that those reported payouts dont mean shit. Reported payouts have anderson at 200k and silva at 400k. But according to white, silva gets paid WAAAY more than Tito.
Silva has three houses. <iframe width="560" height="349" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/AcLTG4NOaz8" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> http://www.sherdog.com/news/articles/Silva-Gives-Eldest-Daughter-a-Grand-Birthday-Party-33695
He probably gets a PPV cut...and since his last two shows have done really well..... Plus I figure he gets royalties for merchandise and DVDs. I mean...how many Ultimate Knockout DVDs do you think feature Anderson Silva fights? Probably quite a few.
The why is he willing to pay tito 400+k to fight and not give Machida more than 200k he gets? IF that is what they actually get paid?
Tito puts more asses in seats than Machida. It's only in Machida's title winning effort, his asskicking from Shogun, and his Karate Kid kick of Randy Couture that he's generated a lot of excitement. Tito doesn't ghost around the ring and evade people except for a bit of the Vanderlei fight where he literally ran away. He kicks ass or gets his kicked.
Machida is more of a Draw than Tito at this current stage. Its only by circumstance that Tito is the main event right now. However, Machida is a consistent main event fighter, while Tito is a mid card type guy now.
I don't think so GF, I think Tito is still a bigger draw. Especially now, with Tito coming off an impressive win. How do you even know how much these guys were offered for the Rashad fight anyway?
I don't know that it is even close at this stage. Is it? After Machida's KO of Couture, I assume a lot of people are waiting to see him again.
We only care when it starts to look like boxing, wherein a guy won't fight unless he breaks the bank. You know, stuff that could ruin the sport.
You and I have discussed this. And yes, in all sports that gain popularity, the players/athletes become bigger than the sport. At that point the fan suffers and the sport is diminished. The sports don't die but they wane in popularity for a while. It will happen with MMA as well someday.
Well im sure they werent offered anything more than their current per fight price. I think Tito makes more than Machida per fight. But i am only going per the reported payouts.
http://sports.yahoo.com/mma/blog/ca...-Anderson-Silva-money-8217-get?urn=mma-wp4674 Not a massive estate but Anderson definitely seems to be the type of guy that wants multiple houses due to the nature of his career rather than one big one. I think that's his 3rd or 4th house now?
