On a serious note, I don't really see why you feel the UFC is some huge competitor to boxing just because the events are on Saturday night.

Big deal. From the way it sounds, you went to a bar one day to watch some relatively obscure/unpopular boxing event and they had a big UFC event on instead and now you seem to hold an eternal grudge..


Maybe a random HBO BAD or some fight no one cares about, but I've never ever missed a big boxing fight because the UFC was on...for whatever reason, whether it be the UFC not having programming that night....or the boxing ME not starting until midnight after the UFC event was already over....point, it's not really that big of a competitor..just because they are both combat sports doesn't mean they steal audiences from each other.

As for Cage Rage, I didn't even know they shut down, but I'd imagine that the UFC holding multiple events in England might have something to do with it.

Shine is still going on, but they've always been minor league at best. That's like saying a small-time boxing card got shut down.
