    It's Kindelan. Then Kotelnik.

If you really think Judah will win then bet on him.

No. He is not being managed. He isn't taking foolish fights. Armchair warriors make the most nonsensical posts ever. Yes, he should fight a guy that Judah BEAT....not because it would help his career OR legacy, but because armchair warriors think said fighter matches his perceived weakness more and want to see him lose.

That's really all it is. Because if Khan fought and beat the guy, the guy would be the worst fighter on the planet, and it would've been "all he had was a punch".

    Except Khan can't punch.

  6. Slice N Dice

Slice N Dice Big stiff idiot

Which punchers should he fight cdogg? He's already fought the guy who everyone was calling the monster puncher. Whether you think he's that great or not, Maidana was the guy everyone said Khan wouldn't fight, and he did fight him. If he fights Marquez, JMM is too small. Rios is coming up but isn't in the same division yet. Valero decided to go mental one day, I mean who is there he is actively avoiding?? He offered out Bradley, and yea I know you think Bradley is average, but he tried to make the fight with the consensous #1 in the division. There is not a single name you can put out there who you can unreservedly accuse Amir Khan of avoiding.

Yeah to be fair, I don't think Khan is really avoiding anyone at 140. He tried to make a fight with Bradley to his credit, and amazingly Bradley turned it down like a total chode.

Plus Judah is a high risk, low reward fight.

Khan does have balls, especially considering how bad his chin is.

Khan had been carefully matched up but I like his choice of opposition lately. Maidana, limited as he may be, is heavy handed, Bradley is #1 or 2 at 140 and I can't blame Khan for that matchup falling apart. Zab is a good replacement fight, as declined as he is.

Slice, I disagree that "everyone" said any of that

Go back and look, I and probably 3 or 4 other guys on this site alone (I don't know about other ones, I don't go to them) all said Maidana was utter shit before that fight and that Khan beating him would not be a big deal to any of us.

What I'm trying to say is that until Maidana, this guy hadn't fought a single guy who presented even a smidgeon of danger and to me, there's a very good reaosn for that- a reason borne out by the result against Prescott (who??) and borne out by the major fade against Maidana-- this guy doesn't have very good whiskers on him

I would agree that there aren't a great deal of good 140 pounders out there and credit to him for wanting or at least seeming to want the Bradley fight, but Judah is being fed to him because he is a name and nothing more.

in fairness though, as I peruse the 140 pound ranks while I type this response I am admittedly astonished at how bad it is... worse than I thought, even

I concede that perhaps Khan isn't as protected as he was before:giggle:

    WAR Khan, I guess:TLC::TLC:

Yeah, but Khan was only 17 at the time.

Either way, it was a fucking amateur fight, it doesn't count on his professional resume..

  19. Neil

khan was young when they first fought but kindelan was pretty long in the tooth by that point as well, certainly past his best.

  20. mikE

    mikE "Twinkle Toes" McJack

You laugh this part off as if it is nothing, but it's exactly the point that you were so vigorously defending earlier in this thread as if you knew something.

you say "he's a protected guy"

response "He might be many things Cdogg, but protected he is not"

you say "yes he is who has he fought? Maidana? gimme a break, he's shite"

response: Defense of Maidana and then "Khan isn't protected at all IMO. He's chinny, robotic and as thick as mince, but he is a gutsy kid."

response to response: "i agree. people are calling him protected and a coward. it's beyond idiotic, imo."

you say going after Maidana defense "he wasnt considered that by ME, though, Feebs"

response" So, it's simple really. Since every fighter is shite, if Khan doesn't fight the two good fighters in the world, he's a protected coward. That said, Khan is shite himself, so if he fights those two fighters, those guys are padding."

you say "after Maidana, what is the next best win on Khan's resume?

Remember, this is a guy being called the next SUPERSTAR of the sport by "many""

Keep in mind at this point you are going off on a non sequituresque tangent. The original point was about him being protected. Now you want to argue that Khan is too highly regarded in the sport which really has nothing to do with being protected.

Response back to the protected point "More importantly, who SHOULD HAVE he fought, according to cdogg, master judge of talent and relevance."

Your reply "punchers... he's been in with one legit puncher since getting blasted out in one round by Prescott (Maidana, who has some power, if nothing else) and he barely survived, man... just made it, he faded like crazy after the first few rounds...Can Judah punch? sure he can...Khan will be carefully maneuvered away from punchers with real technique for as long as possible ... don't forget, six fights ago this kid was fighting 76 year old Marco Antonio Barrera... he's been very carefully matched"

Whatever merit there is to your reply, you did not name anyone specific, you just blabbered about there not being another top notch puncher on his resume. So the next response gives you a name for you to consider...

response "What punchers? You just want to see him fight some random punchers for the hell of it? Just because you think they can beat him? I guess it would make total sense for Khan to take a fight with say Matthyse at this point....even though Judah is rated higher, and is more well known and will make Khan more money/generated more interest."

your response (a rather insipid response at best): "My point exactly. He is being managed carefully, the path of least resistance"

mY response to your tangential point about him not deserving the superstar hype and wondering who his best win was "It's Kindelan. Then Kotelnik." Those are his best wins, imo. He has other fighters-former world champions-on his resume, but those are the two wins, besides Maidana, that indicate that he has a shitload of talent.

your reply to mE saying to bet on Judah if you think he'll win: "Try reading the rest of the thread for crying out loud. I picked Khan"

Then TLC calls you out going back to the first point: "No. Because if Khan fought and beat the guy, the guy would be the worst fighter on the planet, and it would've been "all he had was a punch"."

Then Slice also calls you out on the first point "Which punchers should he fight cdogg? He's already fought the guy who everyone was calling the monster puncher....There is not a single name you can put out there who you can unreservedly accuse Amir Khan of avoiding."

Then MWS joins them "Yeah to be fair, I don't think Khan is really avoiding anyone at 140."

Then MWS apparently can't figure out why I consider the Kindelan win to be significant to why Khan is/should be highly regarded and says to mE: "God you're an idiot."

Then Erratic rides the fence and sort of supports you in the past, but not now, but doesn't name anyone he thinks Khan has ever avoided "Khan had been carefully matched up but I like his choice of opposition lately."

Then, going back to point 2, I try to make my point to MWS about Kindelan: "If you can't appreciate how hard it was to beat Kindelan, then you are an idiot."

Then you accuse TLC of posting a strawman (hypocritically) "try again, strawboy"

Then loadedgloves takes his 12 fingers and types up this post directed at mE: "this mikE guy is a prize idiot"

Which finally lead to the post in quotes.

Try to laugh it off, but as to point one, you got your ass handed to you in spades.

As to point two, the jury is out, but imo there is plenty of reason to believe Khan is probably the goods and I have since the olympics. If some of you don't, who gives a shit (I could be wrong), but when you just do the random hate thing and throw out baseless criticisms (like Khan being protected), your ignorance shows.

I can defininitely see an upset this Saturday. I like Khan but not convinced he is that good. I think he is good enough to beat the top guys but he is always vunerable at that level.

I think he will jab the hell out of Judah making Judah open up more. I still have not seen Judah with Whitaker on his corner so I don't know what kind of strategie he will have.

I am kind of rooting for Judah simply because I'm not sold on Khan.

I think Bradley is the best at 140 and is not even that close.
