that referee should enforce that trunks are wear on the hips, not as some body turtle neck. If it was the case, there would be no controversy after tonight fight as it would be clear wether it was low or not.
Remeber the way Michael Grant wore his trunks nearly up to his armpit, or the body armour ODLH had vs Vargas ?? Or the tent Rahman had in his rematch vs Tua
It wasn't a low blow... it was right on the navel... it wasn't even a hard shot... Judah quit, simple as that
Yes, but this sort of misses the point. Why is it that if the fighter's belly button is the threshold for a low blow that fighters are allowed to wear absurd trunks and body protection gear that not only covers the navel, but goes far above it and often even goes halfway up the torso? These types of outfits are very common now, it seems like almost every other fight I make a mental note of how fucking high somebody's "trunks" are are how they appear to be wearing armor and padding around their waist. Boxing gloves follow a general standard for size & construction, although there are very small differences. But the vast majority of the time this doesn't matter anyway since both fighters use the same gloves. So why is that equipment issue so easily and obviously solved, but it isn't possible to have standard trunks? For sanctioned fights, both fighters get to choose their trunks based on body size and color, but the trunks are exactly the same in terms of relative dimensions and fit. Then I suppose if they want to take those trunks and embroider their nickname on the ass, fine. But the trunks would be just about the same for both fighters, following the boxing rules so that the navel is visible and low blows are no longer a mystery. Also no padding around the waist, just fucking trunks. This really isn't all that hard to deal with. That said, Judah clearly quit.
I thought it was probably slightly low.........but he was looking for a way out either way and could have easily gotten up, taken a count and boxed on if he really wanted to. It's not like he was going to outpoint Khan anyways. Agree with everybody on standardizing the waistbands of trunks and not turning cup protectors into chest protectors. I'm surprised opposing camps didn't complain when Michael Grant or De La Hoya walked into the ring with some of the body armor they were wearing.

He'd already tried to find a way out the round before where he started walking towards the neutral corner trying to make the ref think he'd been badly head butt, but the ref didn't fall for it. It was apparent in the 1st rd that bitch Judah was the fighter who showed up last night. He had no confidence and honestly now that I think about it Judah has never had confidence against the elite fighters, other than the first few rds of Mayweather. Other than that the only time he'll sometimes have confidence is when he's facing some C-level fighter you never heard of. The dude is a straight up loser who seems to get so intimidated by his opposition that he seems afraid to even fight back.
Disagree with this statement. You should at least have the word "ignorant" included in their somewhere....
Before DLH-Mosley II the Mosley camp made a big deal out of the high cup Oscar wore. I called the Nevada State Commission and spoke to Marc Ratner (this was before he moved to MMA obviously). I cited the DLH-Vargas fight as well as numerous Lemmon Lewis fights. While Ratner was on the phone I directed him to the HBO site where he saw clearly the pics of Oscar's high cup (the same with Lemmon). All he said was "there appears to be a little extra protection." Here we are eight years later and guys are still wearing the high cup and further more they're making the band of the trunks extra wide so more blows are deemed "low." Oscar's was different in the sense his cup rode up high and was above his waistline...guys today are making thicker waistbands to hide the same cup. Oscar's even rises on the side to protect against bodyshots....guess he forgot to put this one on when he fought Hopkins.
I agree it wasnt low. It was right on the belt line. Unless Judah has his ball sack on his belly button no way was it low.
