So all of you guys that want to get ripped in 6 weeks..follow my lead.

I'm taking the wife to trinidad in September and so I have to get ripped for the beach and photos. I let myself go somewhat since the last photo I showed on here: put on almost 20 pounds.

So the mission is lose 20 pounds in 6 weeks and get the six pack back and crazy chest definition.

    So here's the gameplan:

I'm drinking water EXCLUSIVELY during the week. May have the odd glass of wine or so on the weekends.

    No carbs after breakfast.

    200 crunches 3 times a week

chest exercises 3 times a week

    daily 30 min walk

I'll share the results in September.

Sly, can you post a pic of your physique now and then post it again in about 2 weeks, etc so we can see the transformation? Make this thread your log-journal of your progress.
I want to see the before and after. The other pic of your abs was impressive.

I think if we have a few tennis matches, that will help you get in shape too. But I work during days and can only play you at night which is a major advantage for you since I won't be able to see you at night and the balls will be whizzing past me!

Sly has a very unusual V-shape. I wonder if that is owing somewhat to genetics.

Yup, I have a naturally small waist and wide shoulders....and this is emphasized when I'm in shape.

I'm on target. I lost 8 pounds since I started the thread. A shadow of ab definition has started to appear. It's been hard though. Only been drinking water and have significantly reduced carbs..and this is a guy that loves rice and bread and roti and potatoes, juice, shakes, apple pie etc.

Why aren't you posting any pics? Would've been interesting to see what you looked like a few weeks back and then seeing the progression and finally the results.

    Vanity.

My pics when I started this were so horrendous that my pride wouldn't allow me to post them. I was a big belly man with a round face. I looked like REED.

    I doubt that. LOL!
You looked trim in that other pic you posted. Why did you allow yourself to gain so much weight? Was the whole dieting/training routine to maintain that tight physique finally getting to you and you just got sick of it completely?

    SHIT!!!

I've maintained the most vigorous routine but it looks like 6 weeks just wasn't long enough to get into the shape I needed. two and a half weeks to go but it doesn't look like I'll make it.

Yup. I'm on that now. Doing madness in the gym as well. Beginning to see the abs now. Still have a bit too much "love handles" though. I might yet get to my goal though...

How do you tackle the calorie deprivation, Sly?

The way Ive always gone about it is, breakfast at 9am, nothing until 5pm, then two small, usually carb-free snacks spaced out between 5 and whatever time I hit the hay.

Are you structured too, or looser?

I can't go without lunch (noon). Just impossible for me when I'm working.

So I have a high fibre cereal for breakfast. A lunch which consists of meat and salad only (no dressing no sauce)

A meal at 6pm which is just a salad with meat/fish.

That's the best I can do. As long as I maintain a vigorous gym routine and drink lots of water this enables me to cut fat pretty quickly.
