Leon & Michael Spinks were the 1st to Spring to Mind...1 was a Historically GREAT Fighter, the Other was the PUNCHLINE of Jokes...

Yeah but both became champions, and both were olympians. It's a bad example. The average guy on the street would say they were both good fighters.

The Hattons are a good example, IMO. Also, Gattis.

Not if they SAW them Fight, they Wouldn't...Cory Spinks was MORE Talented than Leon was...

Luis Santana Became a Champion...Ditto for John Ruiz...Doesn't Mean they were Talented Fighters...

Was Cliff Couser really Mike Tyson's Half-Brother? If so they could be near the top of the list.

I think I remember reading it was confirmed that Couser and Tyson were half brothers. Was a long time ago though.

wah...wah....biggest disparity in talent...it's got to be gaby and orlando canizales...no, it's the spinks brothers....no, it's the Simms brothers..only one won a title...no...

nothing wrong with topic, except for the fact that there are going to be limitless examples, but the posts have mostly been horrible. The only ones worth anything are the crybaby posts directed at me because they are slightly amusing and the one or two examples that are worth mentioning.

I don't think you can include the Spinks brothers, Michael was obviously better but Leon was talented enough to win an Olympic gold medal and claim the richest prize in sport against the biggest name. A faded version sure but one good enough to be holding the title at the time. The disparity between Manny and Bobby is far greater.

I still fail to see how there could be a better example than Muhammad Ali and his brother... one is either the best or second best heavyweight who ever lived... the other was barely a tomato can

To Call Ali a "Faded Version" of himself DOESN'T Tell the Whole Story...Parkinson's had Already NOTICEABLY Set in on Ali by Then, PARTICULARLY in his Speech...Ali SHOULD have Retired After the Foreman Fight OR the Condom Match w/Frazier, @ the ABSOLUTE Worst...

Ali Arguably LOST to Jimmy Young AND Ken Norton, Then Went 15 Rounds w/Earnie Shavers PRIOR to Facing Leon Spinks...Yet & Still, Spinks Won a SPLIT Decision!!!...

Despite Beating Ali, Leon Spinks HAS to B on the Short List of WORST Olympic Boxing Gold Medalists EVER...Spinks was TOUGH & STRONG, for an Ammy Lightheavy, but Even Then he WASN'T the Most SKILLED or TALENTED Guy Out There...Spinks Usually OUTMANNED his Foes, which is Why he Took Soooo Many Ass Whippings as a Heavyweight...He was Tooooooo SMALL to Apply that Same Style Against Bigger Guys...

Though TALLER, Michael Spinks was Naturally SMALLER...Yet he was a BETTER Heavyweight than Leon was...There's QUITE a Gulf in the Level of Talent btwn the Spinks Brothers...

This is the first one I thought of.

Rahman got knocked out by the guy who played "NON" in Superman II.

Leon took so many ass whippings as a Heavyweight because he was a drug addict.
