Matthyse isn't all that though. I would pick Maidana to beat him.

Look at his fight with Judah, then look what Khan did to Judah.

I won't be surprised in the least if Erik gives him the beatdown.

Morales will get the beating we thought maidana would give him. I saw a pic of morales and suliaman recently and it looked like that eye was still swollen some. Morales fought bravely against maidana but he took some serious shots.

Morales is a used up old man who should have retired several years ago

the Maidana fight was merely an illustration of Maidana's stylistic limitations and his crudeness... exploitable enough by an old, smart fighter, even if the old, smart fighter is basically shot

Styles... sure, Maidana would be a favorite over Matthyse, but that doesn't have much to do with Matthyse vs Morales, apples and oranges

Mathyse last 2 fights have been against good southpaws and there's an argument to be made he won both...aside from that he has like a 100% KO percentage. The dude is a young beast. Morales has lots of tricks but he will take a beating and be ready to quit by round 9.

as a morales fan i hope he can win or at least compete. i suspect he'll be able to compete and it will be an all out war. i question whether he is fully healed from the maidana bout, and coupled with the fact that matthysse is more compact than maidana his strength and youth should win out in the end.

regardless, it is one of the better undercard bouts for a big fight in recent memory. not to mention the opening bout should be solid as well between vargas and lopez. great atmosphere for real boxing fans in las vegas

Mattyhse is alot better technically skilled than Chino. I think Morales will get fucked up.

The Maidana fight was competitive but in no way genuinely close in my book, and he should have retired on that artificially high note because this won't even go that well.

    Hope Im wrong.

Well yeah, he put in a fucking brilliant showing, all things considered. It woulda been a fitting bow out. But people convincing himself that he deserved a draw etc.....that was self delusion. I had it about 9-3.

Yeah, that's fair. I think I had it 8-4 - but the emotions I felt were real, don't take that away from me, ok? OK?!?

I think Morales winning a few roundsm, stunning Maidana made the fight more intriguing than it should have been. Maidana clearly won the fight but going in we all thought Morales was a lamb being led to slaughter. the fact he wasn't destroyed left a better impression than necessary.

I think Morales comes out strong but by round four or five this guy steamrolls him. I'm thinking it'll play out like his second fight with Manny...Morales fought well early but Pac simply had too much speed, power and pressure for him.

I thought Morales put up a great fight against Maidana though I had him losing a close one.

I dont think much of Matthyse and I wouldnt be at all shocked if Morales makes this competitive.

Either way, its a good undercard fight.

    It's not really an undercard fight, it's a double-header.

    Mayweather wants the winner.
