I still say Lennox, properly focused, should win this 7 out of 10... He has pretty much all you'd want in a guy that is fighting Tyson

What's prime Lewis out of curiosity?

Either way, I think he probably wins 7 out of 10

There is a real reason Lemmon didn't want to fight Mike until he was on drugs and washed up

Mike would stop him in less than 1 min

Up to you, just the best version of Lewis you've ever seen versus the best version of Tyson

Agreed. I think the younger more impressive (in terms of offense) Lewis is about 50/50 with a prime Mike. I like slightly past prime but more game plan oriented Manny Steward version 7 out of 10.

The calmer Lewis working behind the jab is better foil for younger Tyson imo.

Yeah, the consensus is about right IMO. I always thought, and still do, that Lewis wins about 80% of the time. On a good night, Mike overwhelms Lennox and lands a few big shot early and wins. Every other time, Lennox gets the job done.

That would be one strange outcome. I wonder what the oddsmakers would have on something like that.

I suppose it could happen given the right circumstances. If Lennox for example broke his left hand badly some time during the mid rounds and had to resort to constantly holding and using his height just enough to avoid a Tyson KO bomb and crossing the finish line to a decision loss.

I think the least likely scenario is a LATE KO for Mike. If Tyson couldn't knock out or at least hurt Lennox badly by round 6 i think he loses 99 times out of 100.

Don't get fooled by the lackluster post prison Tyson. Consider the ridiculously fast and completely focused Tyson of the Berbick fight. Lewis would give him hell, but Tyson's aggression would get him the decision.

Tyson on points is not a bad call.
Prime Tyson lost very few rounds.

It's not "bad" but odd considering their styles and the fact neither guy lost a decision in their careers.

Prime Tyson has turned into an overrated myth. Ever heard Foreman say "Don't follow a puncher around."
Tyson would be following one of the best punchers in history and Tyson's chin wouldn't withstand the Lewis right hand/uppercut for more than a couple of rounds. Notice Lewis took Tyson's heart away with basically 2 uppercuts when they fought? Prime or not, Tyson always managed to take a good shot but he couldn't take Lewis' uppercut more than a few times before he started wilting.
Lewis is the best puncher Tyson would ever have fought in his life and definitely the biggest and most intelligent.
Lewis wins 10/10. Good big man beats good little man always. Especially one who has a 13" reach advantage.

Who the f*ck is Berbick???? :atu: Berbick couldn't even carry Lewis' spitbucket. The guy was a joke. Lewis is the best puncher Tyson could ever meet and physically the strongest and most imposing. Tyson would get killed.

Tyson withstood Lewis throwing everything but the kitchen sink at him for 8 rounds when they fought and he was completely washed up. Lewis is not knocking out a prime Tyson, no way no how, and if he gets too aggressive he goes to sleep.

Having said that, the safe bet is Lewis UD. Tyson is very, very live though.

 Tyson didn't withstand anything. He was gone by the 2nd round. Lewis just made it a slow and methodical beatdown. If he wanted to end that fight early, it would've been done within 4. Kitchen sink my ass. Lewis was just tearing the guy's face up with the jab alone. He sure as hell didn't throw a storm of bad intentions on his punches. Why do you think Steward was cursing and berating Lewis inbetween rounds? Lewis was enjoying himself, putting the stomp on Tyson and exposing him as a mouthy sack of crap who fought cans for most of his years.

lol@enjoying the slow, methodical beatdown. That's a really positive outlook on his fighting scared against a shot, washed up legend. And even while he was fighting scared of an old, washed up Tyson, Lewis still unloaded enough to knock out pretty much any other heavyweight.

Lewis would've been terrified of a prime Tyson, if he won it would be in an ugly fight that consisted mostly of jabbing and holding. Tyson always had trouble with tall fighters who could jab and clinched a lot.

Like CDogg says, Lewis had everything to best Tyson...Except the speed to react to Tysons swift assault, & the durability to abrorb it.

I like Tyson, big, in this one. Lewis definitely has a lot of the right tools. Hes just too slow & too soft to survive.

    Tyson in 3.

lol@fighting scared. Lewis won every round apart possibly the first and had no trouble whatsoever so he fought pretty damn well. If he had attacked to get the KO three rounds earlier and thus given Tyson the only chance he had, Lewis would not have been more brave, just plain stupid. Lewis always had too much physical tools and ring smarts for a soft-minded bully

I'm surprised that most people pick Lewis. While he was a tremendous fighter, I think Tyson was nimble and fast enough to consistently get inside and hammers him . Sure Lewis would land his share of shot, but Tyson is definitively the more durable of the 2.
