Don't you wish he would have quit right after Ruiz? Poor Roy, it was one of the most brutal falls from grace ever.

That's what happens when you pack on muscle and then lose it drastically in your 30s. Roy abused his body and paid the price. Dude was huffing and puffing throughout. What would've made sense for Jones after beating Ruiz for the WBA title was fighting Chris Byrd for the IBF title in a WBA/IBF unification fight. That would've been a very winnable fight for Jones and he would've been the WBA/IBF champion. He could've made a record purse for a Lewis showdown in a WBA/IBF/WBC title unification. Jones f*cked up his own career.

Yeah, he started pro at 187, but gradually moved down to 160 and won his first world title there. Terrible example.

The Byrd idea isn't bad, but he would've very likely died in the ring against Lewis.

SRL tried to move down in weight in order to win a title, thinking he could get to Norris's fragile chin, but he could not.

Didn't Leon Spinks move down to cruiserweight and win a title?

Wasn't a drastic drop, but Yuriorkis Gamboa won regional titles at 130 before dropping down to regularly campaign - and win major titles - at 126

Not in my book. Roy defended his title vs. Tarver.

    Has anyone mentioned Vince Philips?

Vince Phillips. After Quartey sodomized him, he moved down to 140. Does anyone remember?

Fabrice Tiozzo, after his crushing rematch defeat to Tiozzo, dropped down to light heavy and won a title and, more importantly, got his career best win too.
