I ain't ruining anything. I'm stating FACTS! My facts are Floyd Mayweather Jr handpicks fights and fought Oscar and Mosley at the ends of their careers. Those are facts. Refute those facts if you can.
I also said Tyson wasn't an uncaged animal as the world thinks and provided several examples of him being tame at times when you'd expect him to be acting like a raging animal.
I also said Tyson took steroids and it's been said by other boxers including Tommy Morrison and Holyfield that Tyson was juicing. They all take steroids so no big deal.

If I could hang out and shoot the shit with any fighter in the history of boxing, it'd be Tyson no question. Not only was he a phenom as a young champ - one of the greatest heavies ever - but he is a very "real" dude, humble with immense respect for the sport and it's (iPhone autocorrect) legends. Whatever he was in his youth, today he clearly has more character and integrity than 99% of people involved in boxing.

This whole thread is Hanz at his finest

Funny, every reporter that I know who have met Tyson and talked about his height mention that he is 5'9 or at most 5'9.5 as opposed to the official 5'11.5. But maybe they haven't really met him as LOK the known bullshitter has

Yeah, this is the "Suck Tyson's Dick" thread. I didn't say anything negative about his boxing skills. He was a terrific boxer although having fought in a weak era and many of his fights being against cans and handpicked guys past their best but that's besides the point.
I'm arguing with cdogg's point. Cdogg says Tyson shouldn't be held fully accountable for his actions because he had a sh*t family and a violent upbringing. All I said was Tyson never learned a damn thing from his youth all the way to nearly the end of his career and that he was also a big time showman who knew how to promote a fight and wasn't an uncaged animal as his rep implies. I guess maybe my view is different from many others on here since I actually saw Tyson since his debut whereas cDogg who is only 33 was too young to see Tyson's prime and is going off on what he read in books and documentaries and the post-prison Tyson.
Tyson wasn't a complete idiot. He had more opportunities than most people in his position.:dunno: People naturally have to "wise up" at some point. Why didn't he? People have been through much worse than him.

Actually he was more than 16. He reached full adult height at 13. He gained 25-30lbs or rock solid muscle in like a year. It's particularly the post-prison McNeely physique which had people wondering. In merely 2 months, he went from being a relative thin weak looking dude to suddenly being sculpted like one of those bronze statues with veins coming out of his ass and a full 6 pack.:scratcher: You don't get a physique like that unless you're doing 3-4 hour bodybuilding sessions daily and Tyson never did bodybuilding to that level. He was taking the same sh*t Holyfield and them were. He got ultra quick results for somebody fresh out of prison.

    weak

    you are changing your position

first it is "oh, he was full grown at age 16" which is of course absurd

now, in the face of how stupid that observation is, you are saying "I mean he used steroids when he got out of prison" ... two DRASTICALLY DIFFERENT positions, since one of them attempts to call into question everything the guy did when he was "TYSON" while the other merely questions the legitimacy of his second career, which no one uses as an attempt to enhance his legacy

Hanz, just stop, this shit is boring and tedious

Tyson reached his adult height at 13. That's a fact. He was about 185lbs with D'amato and went pro at 210-215 or so. And I'm tying that in with the likely scenario that since he used steroids after prison, it's possible he used steroids earlier in his career also.
You make it seem like it's completely out of the realm of possibility. Most athletes, especially boxers and mma fighters are juicing. And you don't build ripped physiques like Tyson's or Holyfield's from hitting the bags or doing some basic workouts. We already discovered that Holyfield was a roid abuser and he also said Tyson took steroids.

    you arent tying anything

you emphatically stated he was on steroids from the beginning, and you have jack shit to base it on other than the words of Morrison (great source) and Holyfield (again, just a SLIGHT conflict of interest there) and even THEY aren't going that far, only offering up the possibility he juiced post-prison

like everything you write here, it's stupid conjencture designed to do nothing other than irritate people and invent controversy where none exists

a 13 year old who weighs 185 pounds (again, you have jack to even back THAT up) weighing 214 pounds SIX YEARS LATER at the age of 19 is not surprising at all, it's EXPECTED

Tyson and Holyfield grew up together as teens. I'd think Holyfield would be as good a source as it gets. Conflict of interest? Maybe but again, people talked sh*t about Jose Canseco and backstabbing guys like McGwire, etc. Turns out he was right all along. All these f*ckers like Sosa, Clemons, etc were juicing. McGwire especially. Tyson's physique for the McNeely fight showed was taking steroids. And he was likely taking them earlier in his career too.

Very Few, if ANY Can Fully Relate to the EXTREMES that Tyson had to Deal w/in his Life...EXTREME Poverty, EXTREME Violence & Criminal Activity, EXTREME Betrayal from 1 "Friend" After Another...Literally, Mike Tyson has Experienced THE HIGHEST of the High's & THE LOWEST of the Low's...Who Else Can Say That???...

Tyson went from Being Bullied to the BULLY...He Went from Juvenile Detention Centers to the Upstate New York SAFE HAVEN that D'Amato Provided...He Went from Being a Kid w/ZERO Potential for Success, to THE MOST Sought After Person in the Wooooorld...

Like U Said, it's Waaaaaaaaay Tooooooooo EASY to Say what WE Would or Wouldn't Do in Tyson's Situation, but NONE of Us Here @ Fightbeat have Lived the Life Tyson Lived...

    Interesting stuff here:

Without knowing anything about it, Mike Tyson claims he paid King's family members salaries and large consultancy fees for doing virtually nothing whatsoever.

One alleged recipient of such payments was Carl King, a stepson of Don King's and also an exclusive boxing manager to King's fighters, an inherent conflict of interest. Carl King was never allowed to handle any of Tyson's affairs, but records show he received consultancy fees from Tyson in excess of $300,000 over the years, along with King's wife, Henrietta, whom Tyson inadvertently paid more than $1.5 million for allegedly decorating Tyson's homes. King's daughter, Debbie, also earned a dubious salary of $52,000 a year, plus expenses, for running the Mike Tyson Fan Club.

After three years under King, Tyson didn't even know he had a fan club. When the fighter found out, his longtime chauffeur and assistant, Rudy Gonzalez, says he and Tyson went to the Fan Club office within King's training facilities in Orwell, Ohio, to see what Tyson had been paying for. When they entered, they saw crates filled with thousands of unopened envelopes from fans, as well as photographs and underwear from women.

Sitting on the floor, opening some of the yellowed mail, Gonzalez, who will also likely be a key witness for Tyson, remembers the then heavyweight champ reading a letter from a woman in the Midwest. Her child had been dying of cancer. She wondered if Tyson could give the kid a call. Gonzalez remembers getting the number, dialing, and passing the phone off to Tyson who, after only a few minutes, hung up, cursed King and started to cry. The call was a year too late.

"Mike never really knew how important he was until then, that so many people had reached out to him," says Gonzalez, who authored the 1995 memoir The Inner Ring. "Mike never really knew he was somebody who had the power to change lives. He was an elephant in chains, the biggest freak act in Don King's circus, and when he didn't want to perform anymore, they tried to take him in the back and shoot him.

According to King's former employees, Tyson didn't have a clue what he was paying for, or didn't seem to care that he was being ripped off. "It was comical," says Joseph Maffia, who was then head comptroller for DKP. "We used to joke and laugh about it in the office all the time. The motto was: When in doubt, CBMT!" That's King lingo: Charge Back Mike Tyson.

    Another excerpt:

According to a copy of a 1998 ledger from DKP, for instance, Maffia's own $4,000 Christmas bonus from DKP was charged to Tyson. Although Maffia and King's other employees never technically worked for Tyson, the fighter also claims he covered an additional $28,000 in holiday bonuses for King's late matchmaker and public relations man, Al Braverman, King's executive director, Dana Jameson, King's limousine driver, Yusef "Captain Joe" Shah, and King's wife, Henrietta.

Records show that Tyson even paid for a number of DKP's office supplies, extraneous purchases and charitable and political donations: $6,200 worth of turkeys from W&W Meats in Cleveland; a $15,000 donation for Father George Clements, not to mention bearing part of a $1,500 donation to Democratic presidential candidate Rev. Al Sharpton, an old friend of King's who also once went undercover for the FBI in one of the agency's many bungled attempts to convict King for virtually any crime it could find.

Dozens of other entries were also billed to Tyson, everything from traveling expenses for King employees to the rent on a condo in Manhattan. "Mike just didn't seem to care," Maffia says. "Maybe in his mind he figured he was making $10 million to $20 million a fight, so if some went missing, it wasn't really worth fighting for. "We bombarded Mike with the bills and contracts," Maffia says. "It's not like we sat down with him like any other accountant might to a client and explain: This is what you're paying us for and why. He was never given the opportunity to read anything that was put in front of him." "I'd sign anything he asked me to," Tyson told his lawyers about King. "I believed in him…"

It indeed is. & I maintain that at least two Bluee Heeler cattle dogs I've owned in years past could have foreseen what a mistake that was, & thusly avoided it.

Throw in one of my old kelpies, too.

No, it's Tyson's fault because he should have been more financially shrewd and emotionally capable of understanding what friendship and trust are:dunno:
