Barerra stops Gatti late after winning almost every round

No way Barrera stops Gatti. Gatti was a huge puncher at 130, so Barrera would fight in his classic mini-Winky Wright style (sitting behind his guard and jabbing cautiously).

    horseshit

Gatti was a puncher with A) Shit defense, B) a chin that guaranteed action since EVERYONE hurt him, no matter how feather fisted they were, C) about 1/10 Barerra's skills, talent or pedigree

Barerra lands with ease the longer it goes, and he cuts Gatti up, hurts him and is far too smart to let his guard down after doing so, and ultimately batters him to an extent that the referee stops the fight... Gatti would be fortunate to win two rounds

I agree Barrera wins easily, I just don't think he stops him.

MAB is tiny in comparison to the other elite fighters he fought, though

Still, I'm just throwing shit out there. MAB probably stops him... although I'd lean towards a decision.

Gatti got beaten down like a criminal 5 pounds north against Angel Manfredy, who was scrapable off of the bottom of a shoe compared to Barerra

I'd be shocked if MAB did not stop Gatti

honestly, I don't know where you got the idea that Gatti was so formidable... he went life and death with everybody, far lesser fighters than MAB hurt him repeatedly

MAB stopping Gatti at 130lbs is a motherfucking ridiculous position. Who said Gatti was so fomidable? Not me. Just saying that Gatti was tough, lot's of heart, strong, had reasonable skills and he was a considerably bigger man than Barrera...who was a JUNIOR Featherweight in essence let's not forget.

Gatti was not on the same level, nowhere near it

funny how "skills pay the bills" for you only when it is convenient

Barerra would land at will and Gatti would be a bloody mess

Cuts is really the only way I see MAB stopping him at 130, though.

True, or such bad cuts Gatti can't see the incoming leading the ref to step in. I don't see Barrera putting Arturo down for the 10 count aside from some sick body shot.

no way doesn't Barrera stop Gatti. Cuts are the only way...and predicting that a fight would end on a cut is like predicting that a fight will end on a broken hand or some other injury.

    That's a silly prediction.

Not when a guy is at cut prone as Gatti. A lot of people predicted a cuts stoppage with Marquez-Vazquez.

I'd agree for the most part... but not with Gatti.

Even with Gatti we can't count on a cuts stoppage...although I hear you. MAB's punches are no where near as damaging as a 147lbs De la Hoya for example.

    I never said he does

    I said he "stops" him

but he'd definitely get a knockdown in the process

jesus christ, Angel Manfredy floored and stopped Gatti

guys who couldn't punch at all hurt Gatti (remember Ivan Robinson?) , Wilson Rodriguez (who?) knocked him on his ass, Tracy Patterson floored him and hurt him several times... Gatti was carefully matched in order to win his belt at 130, anybody elite was out of the question, really good boxers were out of the question as well... he was never an elite fighter, never anywhere near the Barerra level

honestly, if he hadn't fought Floyd Mayweather, you wouldn't be up in arms about this... you clearly think that win was big, despite the fact that it wasn't at all
