Holyfield Bowe 3. Bowe was done and Evander just couldn't pull the trigger.

    Cotto - Corley obviously.

good one. I don't think Pavlik was DONE though. Just shaken up. Taylor tried his hardest to achieve the KO...too hard actually as it turns out.

    Lewis-Holy I, Round 5.

Not sure that Evander was gone, but Lewis had all of the opportunity in the world to put him away and avoid the scoring controversy that ultimately stemmed from the fight. Instead, he fought like a pussy, almost as if he wanted to be put in a position where he could bitch about the outcome.

Cotto vs Torres is more fitting than the Corley fight.

You could also say Floyd vs Corley and Floyd vs Mosley. Floyd was hurt bad by both and came back to dominate.

wrong. For those examples to be valid, Floyd would have had to have been in serious trouble. He simply wasn't.

    please...

I'm not as biased as my legend suggests. Floyd was certainly hurt against Mosley. I'm not disputing that. His legs were unsteady for at least 7 seconds after that second right hand landed.

    "However"

He wasn't "out of it". He had the presence of mind to defend himself and fire back.

To me, this is the point o the thread. Was a fighter there to be stopped and his opponent didn't take advantage of the opportunity. Shane tried his best to follow up..but Floyd wasn't in that much danger. he recovered very quickly.

I agree, but the thread isn't about how hurt or not hurt Floyd was, it's about Corley and Mosley having a chance and not being able to finish him.

and for me, that's the other key side of the coin... WHO was the fighter the would-be finisher was attempting to finish?

If a guy is trying to finish Muhammad Ali, that's a lot different than trying to finish Carl "The Truth" Williams

    Holy was cagey.
He may have been trying lurehim into a trap.
He may have been trying to appear as though he was.
I think it was the first option.

The first to come to mind was Bowe-Golota 2. What a choking headcase Golota was.

Bowe-Holyfield 3 was the next to come to mind. But Evander was suffering from HGH-itis.
