Fights where fighter b was all but out but fighter a failed to finish him that ROUND. Name fights ans rounds. Round 12 of ike Oscar would be my example.

  2. BOSS, you're the thread creating king these days aren't ya!

  3. Holyfield Bowe 3. Bowe was done and Evander just couldn't pull the trigger.

    Cotto - Corley obviously.

i remember mosley hurt david estrada to the body on a few occasions but for some reason didn't follow up. i wonder if he that was done on purpose so he can get more rounds in.

taylor vs. pavlik I also comes to mind.

  6. good one. I don't think Pavlik was DONE though. Just shaken up. Taylor tried his hardest to achieve the KO...too hard actually as it turns out.

  7. steve_dave

    steve_dave Hard As Fuck

    First one I thought of.

  8. Jake

Jake WBC Silver Diamond Emeritus Champ

    Lewis-Holy I, Round 5.

Not sure that Evander was gone, but Lewis had all of the opportunity in the world to put him away and avoid the scoring controversy that ultimately stemmed from the fight. Instead, he fought like a pussy, almost as if he wanted to be put in a position where he could bitch about the outcome.

  14. Hex-One

What about Cotto vs Corley? Miguel was OUT but Corley failed to finish the job!

Cotto vs Torres is more fitting than the Corley fight.

You could also say Floyd vs Corley and Floyd vs Mosley. Floyd was hurt bad by both and came back to dominate.

  16. wrong. For those examples to be valid, Floyd would have had to have been in serious trouble. He simply wasn't.

  17. *Z*

Well he turned into an octopus when Mosley rocked him watch the Corley fight again, he was badly hurt.

floyd cant be hurt ever... he could get knocked out and he would not be hurt

    THE SLY ONE HAS SPOKEN!!!!!

  19. please...

I'm not as biased as my legend suggests. Floyd was certainly hurt against Mosley. I'm not disputing that. His legs were unsteady for at least 7 seconds after that second right hand landed.

    "However"

He wasn't "out of it". He had the presence of mind to defend himself and fire back.

To me, this is the point o the thread. Was a fighter there to be stopped and his opponent didn't take advantage of the opportunity. Shane tried his best to follow up..but Floyd wasn't in that much danger. he recovered very quickly.

Corley Hurt Floyd WORSE than Shane did, in REED's Opinion...

  21. Hex-One

    Hex-One "Twinkle Toes" McJack

    I disagree!

  22. *Z*

*Z* WBC Silver Diamond Emeritus Champ

I agree, but the thread isn't about how hurt or not hurt Floyd was, it's about Corley and Mosley having a chance and not being able to finish him.

  23. cdogg187

    cdogg187 GLADYS

but doesn't that also say somehting positive about Floyd?

  24. *Z*

*Z* WBC Silver Diamond Emeritus Champ

    Sure does.

and for me, that's the other key side of the coin... WHO was the fighter the would-be finisher was attempting to finish?

If a guy is trying to finish Muhammad Ali, that's a lot different than trying to finish Carl "The Truth" Williams

  26. Pascals Wager

    Pascals Wager Undisputed Champion

    Holy was cagey.
He may have been trying lurehim into a trap.
He may have been trying to appear as though he was.
I think it was the first option.

The first to come to mind was Bowe-Golota 2. What a choking headcase Golota was.

Bowe-Holyfield 3 was the next to come to mind. But Evander was suffering from HGH-itis.

  29. Neil

    Neil tueur de grenouilles

holyfield is an honorable sportsman and a man of the cloth, you must be thinking of that identity thief evan fields.

  30. Trey KO

    Trey KO WBC Champion

    Pacquiao/Marquez I

Pac had him dead in the water way early and only got a draw out of it!
