Ortiz has the size/youth but we all know that's not good enough. What does Victor have to do to pull the upset?

use his footwork to go to the store and purchase a gun and bring it to the ring with him.

It looks grim for Mr Ortiz for sure. He's a good fighter and looks very strong @147. I don't know whats best for him, he can try to impose his size and strength on PBF but that may get him pot shotted to death. If he tries to box he will still get outclassed.

"Like I said before" this is Mosley vs Vargas all over again.

If Floyd's reflexes are still sharp he's going to catch Ortiz with shots he never sees. The difference in speed will be obvious early on. The question is how long ortiz can take Floyd's shots.

I give Victor a punchers chance (and I hate saying that) but if he doesn't hurt Floyd and keep him hurt i can't see how he wins going down the stretch.

Ortiz squares up after throwing the straight left and likes to lead to the body with it...Floyd will light him up with straight right hands...will be easy pickings.

I can see Victor knocked out clean simply because he's so aggressive and walks into shots.

Go back and watch the Vivian Harris KO...Ortiz fucked Harris up but Vivian caught him multiple times, flush, with straight right hands. ortiz walked through them. He won't do that with Floyd after say four or five rounds.

With all of that said...I'd advise Victor to stand his ground...never rush floyd yet don't walk straight back. Ortiz doesn't use his jab much and typically throws it short looking to land the straight left...Floyd will have a field day picking off that shot then countering.

I'd have Ortiz work (in camp) on a stiff jab...aim at floyd's shoulder...aim at his chest...just consistently touch him because as soon as he missed over the top, Floyd's coming right back with a counter. Plus...a stiff jab keeps Floyd from leaping in with shots...keeps him thinking.

Bottom line, ortiz doesn't have a lot of options here. I can see him coming out fast, getting gassed then going to sleep. Completely falling apart a few rounds in.

The ONLY Strategy that's EVER Worked on Floyd was the 1 Employed by Jose Luis Castillo, in his 1st Bout w/Floyd...Floyd ISN'T as Mobile as he was Back Then, so it's a FEASIBLE Strategy...

But Ortiz willl have to Pay a HEAVY Toll for DARING to Do So, he's a SUCKER for a Lead Right Hand AND he Hasn't Shown the Strongest Chin, Obviously...But Realistically, this is Ortiz's ONLY Chance of Winning...

I think Ortiz might be a queer. He could try and marry Floyd and get the date of the fight and the date of the marriage to clash, and hope that Floyd comes in heavy or something.

Straight Rights, Lead Rights, Pull Counters...Ortiz is a SUCKER for Right Hands...The MAJORITY of his Visits to the Canvas have Come from Right Hands...

Hard straight left on an unsuspecting over-confident Mayweather, Jones-Tarver style. That's his only shot.

Ortiz could hook up with HOF trainer, Teddy Atlas. Floyd wouldn't know what hit him.

yeah...it's going to be a clinic. Victor does this little hop to reset his feet...it won't take Floyd long to figure out his timing and catch Victor when he's in no position to throw shots.

if Floyd is sharp this will be a whitewash.

Youre right about ortiz being a sucker for right hands...he doesn't pick them up when they come in...catches them flush the vast majority of the time. Not to mention he has no parrying skills. he's purely an offensive fighter...which isn't a bad thing but Ortiz's liabilities play into Floyd's strengths.

Ortiz needs to throw a left to the body the way Guerrero likes to do.

And he needs to punch "with" PBF consistently.

He needs to play a different game with PBF. For him, it needs to be a fight. PBF wants to make it a boxing match. Ortiz needs to fight him.

But he won't do that stuff. And even if he does, he probably won't have the durability needed to come out ahead. Which means he'll probably opt for a safer approach, and lose decisively.

he has only the faintest whiff of a puncher's chance unless Mayweather magically becomes shot overnight

In all likelihood, no matter whether he does it with courage or does it with tacit compliance, Ortiz is getting picked apart

    Right hand mania here

Only way I see Ortiz winning is by early KO. Basically just try to maul Floyd and
out-man him, if that doesn't work he's just straight up screwed, cause he is not outboxing Floyd and will lose a wide UD or get stopped late on accumulation.

Floyd trips on a banana peel walking to the ring and injures his leg.

This is the way I see it. The Jab can make things interesting like mentioned before, but that can only go so far. I see Ortiz getting stopped via accumulation late as well.

ortiz is a sharp shooter, not a mauler. he needs to be aggressive early on and punch with mayweather jr. if/when he catches him with a hard hook he needs to jump on him and finish the job. his problem has never been hurting opponents. but his finishing skills leave a lot to be desired.

On paper this looks to be a no-hoper for Ortiz. But you gotta think that after only 7 fights in the past 6 years,..and only TWO in the past 4 years, combined with Floyd's age, just has to catch up to him eventually. My prediction is Floyd inside of 8 rounds though.

Ortiz is looking very strong and fast. It's a shame he dosent have the skill level to test PBF. The first few rounds will be very fun to watch.:fightme:

Ortiz has no shot to beat Floyd. Know why? Because Floyd agreed to fight him.

    I agree that Ortiz dosent really have a chance but we also thought the same about these fights;

Trinidad vs Hopkins- Many people chose Tito to destroy B-Hop

Roy Jones vs Tarver- Did anyone really think Tarver would beat Roy?

    Tyson vs Douglas- Enough said

Tyson vs Holyfield- You know the story

The list goes on and on my friends. Anything can happen in boxing except Double L arguments about Margarito beating Hopkins in the mythical match ups forum.
