The Tyson that beat Bruno II vs. the Mercer that fought a closely contested fight against Lennox Lewis
Tyson had still had enough in 96 to beat Mercer clearly. In fact, in 96 I think Tyson would have beaten Lewis. Lummox wasnt ready for Mike then. He still had yet to hit his peak.
If anybody's capable of stopping Ray, it would be Mike. If Holy can badly hurt Ray with a short hook, why couldnt Mike? If Ray traded with Mike all night, he could very well get stopped. But I honestly feel like Mecer would go into a bit of a shell after awhile.
this is the truth i find it interesting that Lennox only wanted the fight when Mike was not approved to box in several states due to his anti-depressants and issues out of the ring
Tyson TKO Lennox would've beaten the 96 version of Tyson EASILY. Not by a vicious beating/KO as he did in 2002, but by a wide UD. The '96 version of Tyson was a homeless man's version of the same fighter he'd been a decade earlier.
it is just plain true Lennox wanted no part until it was made public about Mike's problems and he was not even fit to box due to medication he was on
It's the truth. Lennox even forced Tyson to pay 7 million step aside money for him so he could avoid the fight:say:
Agreed. You werent following things if you believe Lewis was the one doing the ducking. Its just that black and white.
