Allistair Overeem. What a fantastic UFC debut for Overeem and what a huge test for Brock. Proving again, there aren't many soft touch match-ups in the UFC.
I think it's a smart move by Dana. Sometimes it's better to let a "new" guy get established more with fans. However in this case both guys are somewhat at a crossroads. Not necessarily at the end of their careers (possibly Brock) but for top billing. If Overeem wins he as a potential new star and a loss doesn't kill him. Lesnar wins and "he's back!"
Don't get too excited. Lesnar is a fucking pussy. He might back out scared just like he did against JDS
Allistar doesnt have the stamina to compete in a 5 round fight like lesnar does. But i dont seeing this being very good for Brock unless he can impose his wrestling.
It's really just implied based on the way guys train and how they look in fights. Cain hasn't gone anymore than 3 rounds and everyone assumes he can do it easy. Lesnar has always looked in shape in all of his fights and did a very easy 15 against Herring. Wasn't even breathing hard.
He can go 3 without gassing, Overeem was gassed after the first damn round against Werdum and that fight didn't have much action. I think it's pretty safe to say Brock has a bit better gas tank than Overeem.
i'm still not sure if this fight will happen. december is 3 months away from now, and it's possible that brock might get hurt/sick again. barring that lesnar does come through, i see this as a toss up fight. brock shouldnt even bother w/ striking and go for immediate takedowns. otherwise, he's gonna get lit up like he did in his last two outings and i think overeem's finishing ability will do its job.
Of course he wasn't gassed in the Herring fight, he was in total cruise control. Anyone could fight 15minutes being so dominant while being able to dictate the pace. But Lesnar, to me, has a questionnable cardio. He was gassed as hell 2 minutes in vs Velasquez
Lesnar has at least average stamina, look at how that Cain fight started, it was anything but a slow pace. Overeem gasses while standing there looking at Werdum. Overeem definitely has the lesser gas tank.

i was simply saying that Brock has shown better stamina then Overeem and will do better in a five round fight and if you cant see that you havent watched enough of their fights
Great matchup for both guys. Its a very winnable fight for both guys, it will come down to Overeem's takedown defense. Straight up.
Isn't that sad? I'm right there with you. I think Overeem is no where as good as I thought yet I can see Lesnar being completely scared of Alistair's strikes.
I can easily see two types of fights happening. Alistair connects and Lesnar goes into "oh shit I don't like to get hit" mode, Alistair has him out of their quickly. I can also see Brock getting double leg takedowns and smothering Alistair. A long boring UD for Brock, if we were lucky, Brock could maybe pull off another arm triangle as he did to Carwin.
I see it looking like Brock vs Mir 2. Brock takes everyone down, whether or not they can get up is the deciding factor. I don't think Overeem is getting back up.
exactly, that is what amazed me about Cain. His ability to get right back up. No way no how is Overeem pulling that off. I can see him blocking the takedown, but if Brock gets him down he's not getting Brock off.
Did Brock get Randy down? I dont remember the fight, but i dont remember Randy being on his back once in that fight.
