No I'm saying Floyd's a bitch for not fighting the top guys in his division. I thought the issue was Pacquiao's penchant for fighting several guys coming off loses? If that's the case why would I give a shit if Floyd fought one guy coming off a loss? Especially if that guy was on the level of all those welter weights Floyd ducked. Don't get it twisted, I'm not the huge Pacquiao fan you think I am. I mearly give Pacquiao the credit for doing what Floyd refuses too. In turn most of you Floyd groupies assume because I'm giving Pacquaio credit for fighting the best and ripping Floyd for not, that that somehow means I'm the same shameless dick sucking fan of Pacquiao that y'all are for Floyd. Well I'm not. Personally I think at this point Pac should just take the tests, not that I believe Floyd would fight him either way.
not only that Floyd fights Hatton when he was undefeated.. most of us here picked Floyd if i remember but i knew quite a few people picking Hatton like you said he fought Shane after shane DESTROYED Margarito Even the DLH that he fought was a LOT better than the one Pac got
But did Joe Messi win titles in 5 divisions, 3 being the linear/consesnsus champ? Did messi fight the euivalent of Corrales, Castillo, Hatton, Mosley and De La Hoya among others? Destruction and Mayhem wants to know!!
The Floyd fan's position on Floyd's career isn't based upon who we think he would have beaten but rather on who he actually did beat. The average talent of the best fighters that he did beat far exceeds the collective talent of the one's he supposedly ducked. Destruction and Mayhem has Spoken!!
His resume could have certainly been better at this point though right? At least admit that much. Put the hate aside for a second and tell me you are completely happy with Floyd resume. There is not a single person you wish he would have fought? Did he go out of his way to seek out challenges?
I wish he hadn't retired after Hatton and beat up Cotto just to shut everyone up, but I agree with his retirement decision after the De La Hoya fight because at that moment in time he didn't need to achieve anymore. He went out of his way to face many formidable challenges in his career. Saying he ducked Williams, Marg, Cotto is like saying Leonard ducked Pryor, Nunn, Curry.
He also went out of his way NOT to fight Cotto(147), Margarito, Williams, Cintron, Clottey...esp. the first 3 mention. It's would be similar to Pacquiao not fighting Barrera, Morales and Marquez when they were all in or around 126-130. At the end Mayweather, Cotto, Margarito, Williams, Cintron, Clottey were in their PRIMES at 147 between 2006-2009-10....5 of those GUYS fought EACH OTHER....one of them stayed outside trying to protect his dearly loved UNDEFEATED record...
I'm sorry...which one of Nunn, Curry, Eubank, Benn, Toney, Barkley, McCallum or Pryor did Leonard offer a career high payday too?
One out of Eight....conveniently the career 140lbder and by far the smallest of the group. See I can play that game too if i want...but I wont denigrate Leonard's career just because I don't like him personally.
Did a prime Leonard fight in the same division as those guys you mention? because Prime Mayweather fought at 147 w/ Primes Cotto, Margarito, Williams, Clottey and Cintron...those guys fought each other...while Mayweather decided on the BUM like Carlos Bumdomir, the hype Judah, the career 140pounder, and an old ass De La Hoya(no blame since it was a huge $$ that any fighter would take)...
If Floyd has slipped at all, a Whitaker/Hurtado scenario is very possible. I think Khan will have a decent enough chance even against the best Floyd, however. Khan is a superior boxer with a questionable chin. Floyd doesn't have the pop in his punch to take Khan out easily, nor does he have the workrate to tire him out easily. You don't go even with Kindelan and get outclassed by Floyd. Khan might lose every round (I doubt it), but the fight will be competitive. If Khan pulled off the win, it wouldn't be anywhere near the biggest upset we've seen. Sure, it might win Upset of the Year, but that would be because of its impact on the boxing scene, not because of its unlikelihood.
:boohoo: and Khan is a superior boxer?? Than who? Mayweater? :giggle: Now some fucking amateur regardless of how good he is...can be comparable to pro like FLOYD Mayweather?......
Anyway, back to the spirit of the thread.... If Floyd beats Ortiz he should face Pacquiao next..no IFs and no BUTs. Anything else and he'll deserve the Floydcott!! Destruction and Mayhem has Spoken!!
Mike is off his fucking box. Kindelan is an amateur. Khan could have whitewashed Kindelan and still get dominated by Floyd.
Floyd's nothing without an undefeated record. Work backwards from there to make sense of his refusal to take on the best and his decision to go to the trouble to come out of retirement to face Ortiz of all fighters.
Now that Khan is a pro, if we take this version of him against prime Kindelan, Khan would kill him in an amateur fight, right? After all, Khan is a pro and Kindelan was just an amateur, right?
The sad part about it is that it's been corrected by dozens of media outlets from the moment it was floated, yet the promotion continues to repeat it. He's dropped his last seven opponents - doesn't sound as sexy, so they go with something that the average sports fan can't immediately correct. It's not true, though.
