Round by Round: Floyd Mayweather vs. Victor Ortiz

  1. How did you score the first 5 rounds? How did you score rounds 8 and 10?

You're retarded. That fight was a draw even with both guys losing points.

'Like I said before' Floyd vs Manny has past its stale date. Manny laid ass kicking s on Margarito and Mosley but didn't look as fast as normal. Obviously his power is still there.

Yeah, at that point it was obvious Ortiz was out of his depth and had no chance. Floyd did it just to be a cock, to get an easy win, and rob the fans. That's just how he roll, so money :kidcool:

this was a tune up fight against a scrub

why did Floyd feel a need to end it so early with cheap shots :say: no one is denying that Ortiz didnt have a chance in hell anyway and would have quit down the line..WE KNEW THIS BEFORE THE FIGHT EVEN BEGAN FFS!!

    total bullshit by floyd
at lleast let the fans see you pick apart a scrub and get their moneys worth :dunno::say:

this is the equivalent on De La Hoya KOing Campas with a cheap shot at the opening bell on the first round of their fight :finger::say:

  7. Well Floyd doesn't get paid for overtime. If his idiot opponent is standing in front of him with his hands down and expecting a kiss....he should damned well hit the fucker in the face...twice!

Honestly I can't remember. I've only seen the fight twice, both times I scored it for Castillo, but the second time I felt more confident Castillo won it.

Floyd won the second fight pretty clear, but IMHO that first fight was Castillo's.

There was good five seconds where Floyd was legally allowed to punch and didn't.

I thought Campas was going to win that fight because of the magic potion given to him by mexican indians.

Sure, I mean Ortiz did pull a bitch move himself. But why not just beat his arse fair and square, and give the fans more entertainment for their money's worth?

Maybe because I'm drunk, but I saw little slippage from Mayweather.

Slipping most of the shots while landing most of th clean blows.

It often takes a few rounds for him to get settled.

Fuck Floyd if he can't agree to a fight with manny.

Maybe a poor fight like this owas the best thing that could have happened.

  14. word. Floyd obliged him...but after a while enough is enough. Ortiz simply refused to fight and Floyd did what he had to do.

True, I am not one to say that you can't argue a round or two here or there in that fight. Funny thing is as much more dominant as Floyd looked in the second fight it was the same score for me.

Look Mayweather didn't know that Ortiz was going to bitch up and QUIT so quickly.....

Mayweather has never given a fuck about anybody but himself.....he will take his 20-30-40 millions or whatever higher number they create..go home be happy in the outside miserable in the inside....and avoid Pacquiao like the plague.

I think some people are exaggerating. He was certainly looking better round by round, timing wise etc.

However he wasn't QUITE as sharp as normal defensively, and with his counters.

question: if you were fighting against a 8 year old retarted kid would you feel the need to take a cheap shot to win?? and then you'd say 'i did what i had to do'

    ??

The thing that I find amazing is that Floyd can be so inactive for long periods yet still come back and easily out class top level opponents.

It's really too bad he doesn't have to box for a living because he'd be pretty good at it.

Mayweather defense was still in top form........his timing was horrible tonight...I never seen him missing so many punches...and unsure of which punch he wanted to let go...

  21. Look at the fight again..well just the 4th round. There was nothing else Floyd could have done..except wait around and hug and kiss the man. I mean..he could have just stood there and had a conversation with him about Obama's chances against Rick Perry or something as well I guess.

The point is...they had already done their hugging and kissing...Cortez deducted he point and waved the fight back on...Floyd comes forward to fight, Ortiz opens his arms for another gentle hug, Floyd doesn't punch him but goes in for the hug...Ortiz just waits there doing nothing.

At some point Floyd has to punch the fucker. It's a fight.

Top level? I guess by today's standards... but Ortiz is Basura in the grand scheme of things

Fair enough. I wasn't sure whether time in was called or not, people are now saying it was. I think Cortez just sucks and wasn't clear enough.

If it was me, I would have taken a step back, made it obvious the fight was resuming, then attacked Ortiz.

But I guess in a way Floyd did nothing wrong, if time in was called, and seeing as Ortiz did land that ridiculous flying headbutt.

Either way, Ortiz pretty much quit, and was looking for a way out. He could have gotten up.

Like I said, Floyd and Manny are far ahead of the competition.

The gap between #2 and #3 at WW is like the gap between Kourney and Khloe Kardashian.

Ortiz wasn't looking at him and his hands were at his sides, it seems pretty obvious he was confused about whether or not time had been called back in... why not just say something? "let's do this" or whatever?

question: if you were fighting against a 8 year old retarded kid would you wait until he was actually ready to fight before koing him? or would you beat him up while he was adjusting his rainbow suspenders, and then boast that you fought within the rules???

Fuck Ortiz. That was a Golota like blatant headbutt. One of the worst I've seen.

  28.

Now you're being unrealistic. "Let's do this"?

This is a fight. That's not Floyd's job.

Well, help me out. Are there 10 guys at welterweight better than Ortiz?

He was in my top 5 after the Berto fight so I would consider him top competition at the weight.

And honestly, short of Manny, he was the only guy I'd care to see Floyd fight at 147.

Don't blame me if he isn't Leonard or Hearns.

  30. word. That was an E Honda type headbutt even....
