The way Ortiz crouched before springing the headbutt was beyond disgraceful. In contrast, Floyd's shot's were almost sporting.

 

Like I said before..I never claimed that Ortiz was the biggest of Welterweights. I'm saying that he's grown into a solid Welterweight...basically he's not a smaller welterweight like a Hatton for example.

Agreed. The thing is (look at it again)...Floyd DID hold off for a few seconds. Ortiz simply didn't want to fight it seems...and Floyd had to do what he had to do eventually.

Very disappointed with the ending. The fight was entertaining. Floyd fought him toe to toe as he promised.

 

Shane has turned extra soft in his old age, and he's ALWAYS been a nice guy, but in his younger days at least he was a vicious fighter with killer instict. Ortiz is just a bitch. Soft as a twinkie!

Floyd saw Ortiz was apologizing, noted quickly where Ortiz's foot placement was by glancing down, then nailed him with a left hook while Ortiz was still trying to kiss and hug him. Then he let fly with a crushing right hand.

And Joe Cortez was standing off to the side, looking around at the fans while having an aneurysm, wondering what the fuck he was doing there, and thinking Richard Steele stopped Chavez-Taylor too soon..."Oh fuck, fight's over!"

 

Floyd was still irritated by the butt and saw his chance. It was shades of Dempsey-Sharkey, but the ref was non-responsive.

 

Bottom line is....... Ortiz is a bitch. He's a bitch for trying to intentionally butt Floyd, he's a bitch for trying to hug it out TWICE, and he's a bitch for looking to Cortez after Floyd landed his hook, instead of putting his goddamn hands up!

Ortiz was relieved to get the fight over with. That was OBVIOUS in the post fight interview, and in all his body language.

Heart aside..... I dunno if theres ever been a southpaw in history thats as easy to hit with a right hand as Ortiz.

And another thing is how LOW his ring IQ is. His handspeed also got overrated. Floyd isnt NEARLY as quick he once was, and was rusty, yet still was making Ortiz look slow.

The MAIN thing tonight proved is...... even mid 30's versions of Floyd, and Pac are still head and shoulders above the likes of Ortiz, Berto, Khan, and Bradley.
