Not just his ring IQ. The guy just seems dumb in general. I wouldn't want him taking my order at Burger King. Something is off with that guy.

    This is true.

I'd like to see him and Brandon Rios go head to head in an academic decathlon. It'd be more entertaining than if they fought.

I actually agree with the racist for once. Why bother with that national anthem? They're both from the USA.

    Ortiz bitched out.
PBF's actions were pretty consistent with what I'd expect a guy like him to do.
I guess the rematch is one more fight that PBF can have instead of fighting Manny.

You're suggesting it was Ortiz's request.

Maybe. But I see the promoters trying to make it more of a racial thing than it was.

Ortiz is a homo. Whimped out. I thought he was going to make a fight of it before he went skitzo and wanted to bum Floyd.

Fuck all that kissing and hugging shit. I wanted to see a fight not Brokeback Mountain 2. Floyd may have been a cunt but his attitude towards that kind of shit is bang on, it's a fucking fight, so fight.

Just watched the fight. Ending was funny. Floyd was an opportunist. Very smart because Ortiz completely lost his head in the moment, first with the intentional headbutt then with leaving himself defenseless after the ref had signaled fight.

    Fuck Ortiz. So disappointing.

He was landing some decent shots in that 4th round (Ortiz), before he went mad. He still would have been ko'd imo, but at least he would have gone out with some dignity.

Just rewatched it and Joe Cortez did wave them back together after the point deduction. To quote Jack Dempsey: "What was I supposed to do? Write him a letter?"

You can see Cortez say, "Let's go" and wave them back together. Ortiz was all huggy huggy afterwards. Boxing brains of a fucking dung beetle.

I think Mayweather could have just thrown a quick, sharp shot to his nose or something, to show that the fight was on but not to KO him. I believe everybody agrees that it would have left a better taste from the fight, even though Floyd's move was legal

No. Ortiz should have accepted the point and ready to fight. His emotions got the better of him. Floyd got to him. He crumbled under the pressure.

Yes, what Ortiz did was stupid and even though Floyd is allowed to take advantage of that, it would have left a better taste had he not done it. Just like with Mosley's glove-touching: Mayweather didn't want to do it so he threw a quick punch to show that they were in a fight, which was perfectly OK. He could have done it here too

I would have prefered the fight to have lasted longer. Floyd was pissed off after the headbutt, he had the perfect moment to get his own back.

yeh he was huggy...but the thing is...Floyd accepted that second hug....its not like Floyd hit him right away, then we could put it down to fighting instinct...but he stood and let the unecessary hug happen, then went for the KO before it finished

Floyd knew what he was doing and knew it was a very cheap shot

EXACTLY. That's what I've been telling people. Cortez waved the fight back on. What the hell was Floyd supposed to do? Floyd already gave him one chance when he moved in and gave a half hug...after that Ortiz was supposed to fight.

    Absolutely untrue.

After Cortes takes the point, he tells Ortiz to cut it out, then says the words "lets go" while waving his hands together. Ortiz kept apologizing (profusely). Floyd touched his gloves in acknowledgment, then (still touching his gloves) came in as if to hug him (again) Ortiz came forward (while still touching gloves), Floyd then hauled off and gave him (what we like to call) a "two piece!" End of fight. It was legal! Floyd didn't tell Ortiz to keep apologizing. Floyd didn't tell Joe Cortes to look over at the time keeper after he waved his arms together. Floyd didn't tell Ortiz to stop protecting himself "at all times!"

it was the equivalent how in the WWE they go to shake hands...then one wrestler fakes the hand shake and hits the other guy

Ortiz came forward to hug..Mayweather was cool with it, let the hug happen, then wailed on him before the hug finished

Come on. Be reasonable. Which fighter wants to prolong a fight longer than he has to? Especially if the fighter in front of him just gave him a nasty and deliberate headbutt? Not realistic.

Every other fighter we know would have done the same exact thing.

Mayweather had no problem prolonging the fight because he accepted the hug...but then threw punches before the hug had finished

Yes, it is reasonable and within his rights, but it leaves a bad taste as he hit a guy who was watching elsewhere, that's all I am saying and I don't think even you dispute that. Wouldn't you be more happy had Floyd for example punched him to the body in that situation and then continued to beat him up?
