Khan would be a far wiser fight than Martinez.

I'm not sure Floyd would beat Martinez, but I'm 95% sure he'd beat Khan, and Khan has obviously redeemed himself since Prescott, Floyd would get a decent amount of credit for the win. And it would probably be a relatively easy fight. Martinez would be far from it.

I think everyone here is taking what Floyd said to heart a bit too much. How often does a fighter say "I'll give him a rematch if he wants it" but then it never happens? It's just a line given to the interviewer so the fans watching will think he's willing to settle the issue, but even I seriously doubt Floyd would actually pursue an Ortiz rematch though I'm sure his next opponent choice will be just as equally disappointing.

Here are Floyd's best 2 options depending on what he wants to do: prove his greatness, or as he likes to say, steal more money by taking on the easiest fights available.

Option A - STEALING MORE MONEY:

I'd say pray like hell Berto comes out on top of an Ortiz rematch. Can anyone see where I'm going with this? A Berto fight would be easier for Floyd than the Arturo Gatti, Baldomir, and Ortiz fights.

Option B - PROVING HIS GREATNESS

Do what he can to make the Pacquiao fight. If Floyd truly thinks Manny is on PED's then fights with Martinez or the Margarito-Cotto winner shouldn't get much fuss from the fans. I know I wouldn't complain about any of those choices.

People are telling Floyd Pacquaio has AGREED to all TESTING, reporting to an international organization while training in the Phillipines and to a domestic org while in LA.

Floyd: "They're lying. They are feeding you bullshit."

If one camp is saying one thing and the other camp REFUSES to believe it, who is ducking who?

Roger Mayweather on who is next: "I don't know. I know he ain't fighting Pacquaio."

Yep. And it will be amusing to watch the groupies try to put a positive Floyd-spin on that fight.

Martinez is high risk high reward though. Khan is medium risk low reward. Better to fight Martinez than Khan.

    I agree

i'd say MOST times they say "i'll give him a rematch" it doesn't happen

especially in a fight where it was pretty clear that it was not a competitive match

Obviously Floyd probably wants another easy fight with Ortiz, the guy you all touted as this tough guy after the Berto fight. What a damn joke that turned out to be. Ortiz is the SAME FUCKING GUY he was when he quit against Maidana. It's just that Berto simply sucks. It's about time you all realize this.

Floyd is already small at 147, the idea of him fighting the middleweight champ is ridiculous imo. I don't really care to see that, I just want to see him fight Pacquiao.

Pacquiao HAS NOT agreed to testing with no cut off date. Show me a single link that says he has.

What do you base that on? Floyd agreed to 50-50, Manny's glove and ring size, etc without hesitation. He's not really known for being a diva at the negotiating table, especially not relative to the leverage that he has.

HOW THE HELL was he supposed to know that Pacquiao would say "oh I'm scared of needles in spite of all my tats," "oh I'll be emotionally affected by having blood drawn," "oh I'll be weakened by the same amount of blood drawn from newborn infants, even though you take the same tests I do," "I can only do it 30 days out.. wait, there's a video of me getting my blood drawn before the Hatton fight 24 days out? OK hmm 21 days out.. 2 weeks? NO WAY" blah blah etc? You honestly think that if Pacquiao had agreed to the tests, Floyd would have backed out somehow after the contract was signed and the fight was ready to go? That requires bias to the point of suspension of disbelief.

Who do you think is really making excuses here?

Basically you're saying "Well, Pacquiao isn't agreeing to the tests, but I'm going to blame Floyd anyway because *I IMAGINE* he'll look for an excuse if/when Pac does agree to the tests," when Floyd has no established pattern of looking for excuses to get out of fights, and has only put ONE requirement on Manny to make the fight.

Personally, I think Pacquiao is waiting for Floyd to get old and slip a little bit more before he agrees to testing with no cutoff, IF he ever does. And unless Ariza finds a new masking method, I don't think he will.

On whether Floyd will make another excuse if Pac agrees to Floyd's testing protocols? It's a bet.

You really think Khan is medium risk?

I have no doubt his handspeed and reach could trouble Floyd, especially early, but I also have no doubt Floyd would figure him out and neutralise Khan's advantage in handspeed and reach pretty quickly.

Khan is just too dumb. He has improved skill wise, but his success is still largely down to handspeed and reach. He's too predictable and robotic to beat Floyd.

BTW I'm with you cdogg. I said it from day 1, if Pacquiao agreed to everything, another clause would be introduced that would end the negotiations.

Floyd doesn't want to fight Pacquiao.

Absolutely, that's why I was kind of hesitant to not only give Ortiz that much credit, but act like he was now a different guy mentally.

Disagree. Floyd want's to regain his undisputed P4P#1 status and Pacquiao is the one man in the way. If anyone stops this fight from happening it would be Arum/Pac, not Floyd. Arum wants to protect his cashcow and keep chatting shit...deep down he knows that Floyd would beat him like a rented mule.

Arum might not want the fight, I don't disagree with that, but neither does Floyd.

If he did he wouldn't give 2 shits whether Manny was on PEDs or not. If he was as confident as some of the Floyd fans, he'd collect his easy (however many million) payday.
