Just rewatched the fight and he was trying to get a headbutt in all not and was even warned in the 4th round early on.

it wasn't in the slightest bit dirty. I almost got beat up by a gang of latinos at the bar where I was watching it (something went wrong with the PPV order and I had to let my wife stay home with the kids). These guys were enraged when i stood up and clapped (:bears:) at the KO. They kept saying "man that is some bullshit and you're celebrating?". I said that the ignorant fucker should have protected himself after the ref called time in.

Oritiz kinda says sorry, Floyd nods to him then puts up his hands

if i'm ortiz there, i'd take floyd putting his hands up after the nod to mean "ok.. lets box"

for some reason ortiz just backs up slightly with his hands down

It seemed like he was expecting Floyd to hit back and decided to do nothing. Very weird.

Maybe he was looking for a DQ.

Maybe he's cut from the same mold as Kermit Cintron, and just doesn't really belong in a boxing ring.

    :dunno:

I'll watch him again though. He's an interesting fighter, if a bit daft.

Ortiz is the quintessential modern fighter. Fast, strong, ripped, athletic, stupid, and gutless.

Perhaps Ortiz was on the PED's against Berto and felt so mentally and physcially strong that he was able to walk through anything that Berto landed. But against Floyd he turned back to the mental midget prior to the fight due to the blood and urine testing. I'll Holla 5000

This would support the theory he wanted to get disqualified and possibly get a rematch.

Or, perhaps Berto sucks, has no chin, and doesn't know how to fight?

The truth is, Ortiz did walk through PBF's punches - the ones he threw when Ortiz was actually paying attention.

What was the difference between the testing Ortiz was subject to against PBF and the testing against Berto? Was it two different testing regiments?

I guess Maidana made him undergo mandatory testing as well.

I have no sympathy for Ortiz. He tried to butt Mayweather numerous times, including a leaping E-Honda headbutt, got DQ'd for a more blatant punch on the break in the past (it was actually illegal), etc..

But the ending still was kind of shitty and I wish Floyd hadn't done that.

It looks real shitty for Ortiz and his team to complain about Floyd fouling with his elbows and then Ortiz ends up being the one to throw intentional flying headbutts at Floyd

I didn't like the way the fight ended, Floyd's actions were legal but unsportsmanlike, but I have zero sympathy for Ortiz.

Nope but perhaps that was the fight where he made up in his mind he had to do something that would change him mentally and physically. I'll Holla 5000

Exactly.. He knew it was a way out that could save a small, tiny bit of face.

He bitched up with the headbutt and again by quitting.

By the way, this is EXACTLY why there shouldn't be a rematch. Ortiz does not deserve another payday.

Yup all of Floyd's opponent's suck. Floyd sucks too. Duran would have killed him at any weight. Floyd fights a guy like Ortiz and struggles. Duran fights guys like the great Kirkland Laing and dominates.

They don't make'em the way they used to....

There's no bitch in the one you call sly. You're just ridiculous where Mayweather and his opposition is concerned. Ortiz is only a "bum" when you compare him with Mayweather...but the same can be said of most fighters out ther enot named Pacquiao.
