Floyd late stoppage with Amir galloping for his life as if Floyd were a prime Joe Louis throughout most of it
Mayweather picks him apart and stops him in the mid to late rounds. Unfortunately we will probably see this in a few months, rather than another fight (that is 2 years overdue). Khan is levels below Floyd, and Floyd deserves little credit if and when this happens.
:: To be fair though, I have always maintained that Khan has the attributes to give Floyd hell, and unlike most MM's, I might actually have the chance here to be proven correct
You know, I can kinda imagine him causing a couple of head aches early, especially for this slightly less mobile, more flat footed version of Floyd.
I've said for a good time now, he will be more competitive than Hatton was, even if he may get stopped earlier. He has the tools to win rounds
Once again you folks are making the typical mistake of looking at things in black and white. This match up has intangibles you're not taking into account.
such as?? Khan has affletizm don't confuse that with skills... his skills are negligible... he leaps, he throws a flurry... that's it Mayweather could be half as fast as he is now and still overwhelm Khan with his skills alone
I'd actually love to see Floyd clown Khan just in the name of the craft of boxing. Khan in march, Pac in July, in a parallel fantasy universe.
You actually just made my point cdogg :: When did I ever mention Khans skills? I didn't. Mayweather is a billion miles ahead of Khan skillwise, I've never once said otherwise. Speed. Range. Youth. A great coach who can draw up a gameplan. These are things Khan has on his side. Now, I can predict what you'll say Mayweathers IQ will take care of things, and they most likely would. However, you have to realise this, whatever you think of Khans ability, the kid has balls. He doesn't quit, he's stupid enough to believe he is the best thing in boxing. He won't punk out like Ortiz, he'll keep going. He isn't going to come in and stay on the inside, because he CANT fight on the inside. Mayweather is 34 now, he's slowing down a bit, Khan is fresh and is in the best form of his career, I think he genuinely believes he can beat Floyd. Zab Judah is a guy you consistently rip on for being as bright as a black hole, which is true, he's a fucking spaz. That didn't stop him giving Floyd a rough time till the halfway stage though. That was because his natural attributes bridged the gap in ring IQ, for a while. Now do you honestly think Freddie Roach is going to let Khan go in there with ONE plan and that's it? Cmon man. Hut likes to use the term "robot" for Khan, with Roach as the engineer. It's probably apt. He will programme a fightplan tailored to Khan and Khan will NOT deviate from it. Roach is the guy many believe may hold the formula to beating Floyd, and in Khan he has a guy who he can programme to test it out.
Khan isn't joining MENSA anytime soon, obviously, but it doesn't change the fact he has the correct tools to complete the puzzle, it's whether Roach can teach him how to read the manual
Slice, Khan could have all the courage and confidence in the world but inevitably Mayweather figures him out and times him... Doesn't matter what Roach comes up with... It could work for 3 rounds brilliantly, but Mayweather is simply too skillful a guy to not figure it out... Saoul Mamby could do it, it doesn't need to be a guy on mayweather's level Khan might be able to beat a guy like Bradley or Ortiz or Berto, because they have roughly the same problem he does: fitness and speed but no craft whatsoever... but I think against a skilled pressure fighter (those guys seem to be going the way of the dinosaur as much as the backfoot craftsmen are) or a pure mechanic, there's no way it is enough
