You can survive McClellan, you should be able to survive Trinidad.

    But then i could counter:

You get knocked out by Watson you should get knocked out by Trinidad.

My counter would also be the more valid one as the Watson fight was at 160lbs (the thread) as opposed to the 168lbs where he fought McClellan.

Trinidad was more accurate than McClellan, imo. He didn't hit as hard shot-for-shot, but more of his shots would get there and I think he was defensively better as well.

Point of clarification: is this Trinidad with or without the cast iron handwraps?

One hand with, the other without.

Which hand? It's a random event.

Benn wins by brutal KTFO, surviving a KD or two early en route.

Additionally, Watson was a much better middleweight than Tito.

Watson was more skillfull, particularly on defense... but Trinidad was a much more skilled and explosive offensive fighter

I'd pick benn. Don't know why, cause his resume don't support it, but I always tought that tito would have problem with sluggers.

Benn, easy pick. Benn aint Joppy.

Tito has crisper, more accurate punching, but Benn was incredibly powerful and explosive, and Benn is definitely the bigger man. A solid 160 pounder against a 154 pounder.

Tito had a decent chin and could take some punishment, but I doubt he could take that much against Benn. Benn got hit by significantly bigger, stronger men than Tito. I think he could take what Tito had to dish out enough to lay a fierce beating on the lead footed, left hooking sloth.

Is Trinidads resume at MW supportive, really?

Beat a non-descript belt-holder & then had his career ended by Hopkins. Not exactly setting the world alight.

Tito was an explosive, offensively skilled welterweight/light middle. He did nothing at all at MW, save beat William Joppy, who was absolutely crap and nowhere near as good as either Benn nor Watson.

but he didn't just beat Joppy... he blew him out, decimated him... I could see if he'd scored a TKO late with the fight even or won a decision... but he KILLED the guy

Fuck knows. Bernard doesn't tend to take people out quickly anyway, plus Joppy fought Trinidad with his hands down like a tard. He just came to survive against Hopkins. He's awful cdogg, and beating him in whatever fashion means nothing. Trinidad did absolutely nothing at 160 except take out a few bums and get bumfucked himself

I disagree... Many people gave Joppy a very good chance in that fight... Trinidad murdered him... it was a good win and demonstrated that at the very least, his power was still formidable

You're a smart guy cdogg, so I hope you weren't one of the people giving Joppy a chance!

If Joppy had fought Tito like he fought Hopkins (to survive), he wouldn't have been taken out like that. Tito could obviously bang but I saw nothing from him at 160 to suggest he could hang in a shootout with Benn.

Joppy didn't have to be really good for it to be an impressive performance... he needed to be merely competent, and he was

The fight vividly illustrated that Trinidad, if nothing else, had a vicious punch

So on that note, Beyer was competent, and was taken out impressively by Kessler, which means that...

Well you know where I'm going with this  :crafty:
