He gave it his all in the ring, wanted to face the best because he believed he could win, even tho he lost to Gayweather and Pacquiao, he came to fight and wasn't overawed by any opponent.

There's only oooooooooone Ricky Hatton, ooooooone Ricky hatton, walking along, singing a song, walking in a Hatton wonderland.

Tszyu beats him in a fair fight.

He also wrestled like a gayge fighter.

He was effective I suppose. Don't really miss his fights though. He gave it a go.

He was a game guy but definitely overrated as a fighter by some... I don't have anything bad to say about him, really

He wasn't the most technically gifted boxer, but made up for that with sheer guts, heart and determination.

His style was very effective and a nightmare for many who fought him, but the flaws were fully exposed against floyd and pac.

.. Isn't that kind of a knock on Hatton, that you think he was such a bum that Floyd cherry-picked him and they didn't belong in the ring together?

Yep Hatton lost in the ring (as expected) but won big time at the bank and the negotiating table.

Hatton will go down as GREATER than Calzaghe, I agree. His overall body of work is better and he challanged himself against the best fighters he could, which is something Calzaghe didn't do until very, very late.

Calzaghe was a BETTER fighter IMO, though. Far fewer weaknesses.

Hatton got a touch overrated prior to the Floyd fight and has since become somewhat underrated since. Ricky was a top quality fighter at 140, ruled the division for near enough four years and beat/stopped several top fighters.

Who would win? Hatton from the Tszyu fight or Mosley from his LW days? At 140.

D & M's pic got to me so I posted that pic without putting much thought into it.

    Hatton was never a Bum.

He was a good fighter, and obviously has one really good win, but in all honesty, with a ref who wouldn't let him get away with holding and stinking the place up...Khan beats him at 140. Yeah I said it.

I agree also that he deserves more credit than Calzaghe for chasing the big fights, but Joe was clearly much better
