Peak Norris of the early 90s vs the De La Hoya who fought at 154. I think Terry is more skilled but with his chin and penchant to get drawn into a brawl, he could create opportunities for De La Hoya. But I do believe at his best, he pulls off a competitive but deserved UD.
Thats fair. Oscar remained a patient, tactical boxer at 154 though, & I think hed have a pretty honest shot at a KO? Maybe 40%?
He did. But its my humble opinion that Oscar was not the same fighter at 154 that he was at 147. His legs were gone, his reflexes had slowed down, and his stamina was even worse. He still had hand speed and punched with some power though, so Norris would have to be careful. But I don't feel at 154 that Oscar would handle a proven junior middle like Terry.
Not that they were on Norris' level, but he seemed to handle Mosley & Vargas at the weight pretty admirably (IMO, he won both fights)?
I thought Oscar beat Shane the 2nd time, but I wasn't too impressed to be honest. I'll give it another watch. But Oscar to me in that fight lacked stamina, power, and true accuracy in his punching. He basically outworked Mosley in that fight. The Vargas fight was an excellent performance. But even in that fight, his legs and reflexes weren't there. He was very flat footed and won that fight on his hand speed, experience, and heart. Watching that fight just makes me think that Terry would be able to really exploit Oscar's holes in defense that he had.
