Darren Barker is shite. Martinez is going to rip his head off.

Barker stands no chance here. None. Zero. Zilch.

Martinez has speed only Barker can dream of. The difference in hand-speed is scary. No more than 5 rounds people, no more. If it does I will be VERY surprised. You know what, Barker will probably just aim to cover up for 12 rounds, then say ''I lasted the difference, how many other fighters can say that!''. It won't even be competitive. As soon as Barker feels the first power punch from Serg, he'll cover up, or he'll even try and trade with him which will make it even easier for Serg.

Barker might as well bring his pyjamas, bed covers and pillows to the fight.

    Martinez wins via KO.

Yeah, I don't rate Barkers chances too highly either.

Yeah HBO isn't having much luck this year in getting the UK to supply quality/competitive B-side opposition.

Jake, what's the story with Al Bernstein working with terrestrial tv {Channel 5} in the UK for the Tyson Fury fights? Are they planning to bring Fury State-Side to fight on Showtime if he can make the grade? Or is it just nothing more than Bernstein picking up work elsewhere??

As for the B-side Brit opposition...most of the Brits seem to be either World Class or World Pass at the moment.

Barker is unlikely to do any better than Dzindzuruk, who was himself a 154lbr.

Barker just isn't tested at all at this level.

If you looked up the word "average" in the dictionary, it would just have a picture of Darren Barker. Easy win for Maravilla.

    ALLY PALLY!!!!!:bs:

Thats where he said he wanted his title shot to be if he got the chance.

    Bellys and Bullseyes!!

I can see him being 180'd by Martinez. Laying flat on his back.

    Yup.

I'm glad it's on sky. There's no fucking way i'd pay to see this very one-sided contest.

    Serg is da man tho!!!

Barker believes his brain will play a big part in this fight......yea, splattered all over the canvas.

We shouldn't mock Barker, he could have taken the tried and tested route...go to Germany, drop a decision, come back home and get the sympathy vote. I'll give him credit here in that winning one round vs Maravilla is worth all the split-decision losses and sympathy votes in the world.

He's not a small middle either, he's listed as 6', he's got not much punch so he will be forced to box, unlike Tall Paul he is unlikely to lean in and get blasted too easily too early.

He could be cagey and go the distance, but I favour Maravilla to stop him.

Never even heard of Barker till this fight was made. From the sounds of it,he's not very good either. Going with the easy pick,Martinez.

Irish, what 's your take on Andy Lee on the undercard? I remember his fight with McEwen. Hammered him with that left hand in the end.

I quite like Barker, he's a decent fighter. Don't think he's gonna do too well at this level though.

I like what he's trying to do style wise, lots of drawing, pulling and slipping rather than just covering up or backing out with his legs ala your modern leap-amateur.

Just not a world level physical talent, unfortunately. It's McCloskey-Khan II in some ways, though I don't think Barker will come out of it as well (/as conscious).
