Nishioka vs Marquez final thoughts...

I'm picking nishioka to win this via a clear unaimous decision (with the possibility of a late stoppage).

I feel nishioka's speed will be the difference here. His hand speed will cause marquez trouble all night and his movement will frustrate him.

Marquez may have success throughout the fight, but it will only be in spurts I feel.

These are only my novice thoughts. What do the experts think?

nishioka himself is no spring chicken. this should be a competitive fight. i pick marquez on points.

I feel that if nishioka stays centre ring and trades with him, it will benefit marquez to some degree.

Just checked. It is on TV: Fox Sports Net

That's awesome. The fights on FSN will likely be better than the ones on HBO. Man, boxing is fucked up.

How can i see this fight in sunny England?

I don't know if it's live on the English feed, though. Pretty sure it's "only" live on Fox Deportes, and will air on FSN (English feed) via next-day tape delay due to conflicts with college football.

But yeah, this is easily the best card of the night.

Surprised so many people (not just here) are convinced this goes to the cards. I'm still torn on who will win, but was always of the belief it doesn't see the 9th round either way.

    wound up going the distance

I had it up while I was watching the Martinez/BAKER fight... Had to trun it off after the 8th because my computer couldn't handle the simultaneous streams

Marquez looked surprisingly (to me anyway) strong and fresh, but the champion looked a step quicker

Have always liked boxing. I've been hooked since 2002 and to a greater extent since 2007. I watch more boxing videos now than I do football.

Nishioka may have looked a step quicker, but Marquez looked quite sharp. Made it tough. Used his jab well. Landed effective shots, but Nishioka's left was landing clean and hard.

    Enjoyable fight this.

I had it scored 8-4 for nishioka. It was very close i thought after 8/9 rounds, but nishioka stepped it up in the final 3 rounds, landing some clean lefts. Marquez was pretty knackered late in the fight and his work rate dropped.

Yup, I was impressed with Rafael... I really thought he'd look more shopworn than that, especially coming back down in weight at his age

Yeah, Marquez looked sharper than expected, doesn't seem to be shot actually, unlike Izzy of course.

However, he's probably the worst loser I've seen. Refuses to give opponents any credit, and thinks he won the Izzy rubber match and even this fight.

He was beaten fairly clearly in both fights, especially this one.
