I felt like scoring 4 & 5 for Castillo would have been a bit generous based on actual scored punches, personally

But according to Double L, it's not all about accurate punching.

I think you know full well that what I mean is % punches landed is in and of itself irrelevant.

I change my mind every time. First time round I scored it for Mayweather though, so I guess that's the one that should count.

I assumed he meant 'connect %'. Which is an argument he's picked with nobody who actually exists.

    Ludicrous scoring. Utterly preposterous! :nono:

    Rounds 5 and 5 were clearly Floyd's.

That is an idiotic take in a fight like this... it wasn't CLEARLY anybody's

You want to see "CLEARLY" rounds, watch Mayweather/Corrales

Anyone who watches round 5 of this fight and doesn't see it as a close, difficult round to score is biased as hell

Despite Floyd throwing 41 punches and landing 13 (32%), compared to Castillo throwing 40 punches and landing 16 (40%), I gave floyd the fifth round.

The eye catching shots came from Floyd. Castillo was aggressive, but not doing enough, to me, to win the round and seemed to be more frustrated.

Floyd landed some nice head shots in that round.

The punch stats are a farce in that fight.

I had it 7-5 in Floyd's favor. 2, 5, and 11 could have gone either way.

Wow. Castillo was impressive in that first fight. Heck, even his effort in the second fight was praise-worthy. PBF just had tons of trouble with Castillo's timing, his jab, his feinting and his ability to throw punches without telegraphing them.

PBF was just baffled at times as he stood trying to predict what Castillo would throw next and when.

To me, Floyd is now simply a drug-testing clause in this filthy sport, I haven't said too much bad about him for atleast a year now, such is the importance of stricter drug testing compared to his mere antics as a boxer.

So unless it was something else that hurt, ..I haven't been in 'hatin' form.

Castillo fought better in the second fight than he did in the first, actually. In the first fight he fought well, but his success was more related to the fact that Floyd was uncomfortable using his left arm (due to a shoulder injury it would turn out) and so Floyd kept uncharacteristally switching to southpaw to protect his left and in doing so, compromised his own defensive abilities (His defnse is predicated upon the orthodox stance) and was hit far more frequently than in previous fights, often nailed with huge haymakers.

Still, even with that handicap, Floyd won at least 7 rounds.

in the rematch, Floyd didn't "switch hit" once because his left was repaired and he was back to his best. The fact that Castillo won at least 4 rounds against this version of Floyd shows that he was in fact a better fighter the 2nd time around and that Floyd was in a sense lucky that he didn't have to fight this version in the first fight when he was injured.

Wait it was his left that was hurt? I thought it was his right. If it was his left then any injury is a complete non-issue coz he used his left fully.

He kept turning southpaw to protect his left. So it isn't a non-issue.

He threw the left plenty and threw it hard. Maybe 'non-issue' is too strong, but it clearly wasn't that much of an impediment.

I honestly thought it must be his right that was injured. He hardly seemed to throw it at all.

Dude...try fighting southpaw when you're used to fighting Orthodox. you do everything wrong. You can't throw decent crosses and your defense suddenly sucks: you start walking into punches.

Floyd never fights southpaw when he's without injury. So if he chose to do so, it was apparent that he instinctively needed to rest his left from time to time.
