The guy was well on his way to become a great . Destroying Manfredy,Corrales, hit a road block and lost to Castillo but right away took a rematch and CLEARLY defeated him tying the series at 1-1. Then something strange started to occur, he started being very emotional crying after fights where he defeated guys like Arturo Gatti ! (Seriously crying after beating Gatti ? That's like crying after hitting a heavy bag at the gym for 20 minutes) then seemingly the next minute being angry at everybody in sight , then on top of the mood swings red liquid started dripping from a place where his pee pee used to be and his ball sack used to hang. Its the modern sports phenomenon in the twitter/internet media age, coupled with the general paucity of talent. 10 years ago, we weren't worried about Floyd. Now, the US boxing networks have no heavyweight title, an ancient Bernard Hopkins, and some midget fights. Maybe Andre T-3000 Ward too, but thats it. So you get a guy like Floyd and you indulge the mother left-right-and-centre. And he responds accordingly. 10 years ago he would have been butt-forced into the Pacquaio fight.
i think to many, he's become more unlikeable since the castillo fights, which resulted in everyone getting in his case and hoping to see him lose. he was calling out oscar when he was at lightweight and oscar was at 154. virtually everyone thought he was crazy and that oscar would've whupped his ass. i dont think anyone called him a pussy then. but really, i can only think of two fighters he blatantly did not fight and that's margarito and pacquiao.

Revinionists would have you believe that AT THAT TIME Cotto, margarito and Williams were more viable opponents, but this simply isn't true. Then instead of hanging around at 147lbs he decided to jump up to 154lbs and take on Oscar "Mayorga/Vargas killer" De La Hoya of all people. This isn't consistent with a fighter that ducks or dodges people... The Floyd haters are seriously the stupidest "fight fans" on the internet.
Pretty much. People will still pay for fights like Mayweather against JMM, Ortiz, Khan, etc...so there's less incentive for him make the only WW fight that matters. Same with Top Rank and fights like Pacquiao-Mosley.
