    I don't know about THAT^

Taylor definitely wins, though, Vargas was no middleweight... but Taylor seldom had easy fights against upper-class opposition and I don't think this would be much different.. Vargas gets some work done in there

Winky's style is better suited to give Jermain Problems than Vargas. Vargas was a decent boxer but was hittable. Additionally Vargas didn't have much height reach or speed to trouble Taylor.

Doesn't matter. Vargas would be too small to be competitive given his style.

    you're joking, I assume?

in his previous fight, he'd been autopsied by Hopkins

Taylor wins this only on sheer size.

Vargas IMO was the better fighter. But Taylor's hand speed, height and reach would probably get it for him here.

I think Vargas does some damage and makes it entertaining and competitive, though.

Taylor by decision. Vargas lacked that necessary Caucasian gene that seemed to give Taylor so much trouble throughout his career.

In all seriousness, not sure there's a single legit (lineal) MW champ I'd pick Vargas to beat.

I'm surprised that everyone is so certain Taylor would beat Vargas. Yes, Taylor would have a size advantage, but a) it's not like Vargas was a small JM, b) he was so much better than Taylor it's not even funny.
